I didn't see it, but I think the take away from this is not this ONE fight itself-- it is an emerging pattern of disasters for Rios. No signs of improvement and now the weight issues. The strategy so far has been to bully smaller guys. Brandon is not going to be able to do that when he moves up in weight. What is the plan when this inevitably happens Mr. Garcia?

 

didnt see it but only heard bad things...havent seen a credible boxing pundit say it was a good decision

You're not missing much mate. It wasn't a good fight by any stretch of the imagination. The decision was even worse. Rios won maybe two or three rounds.

 

Did Abril ever have him hurt to the point where he could have stopped him

 

I think the reason many are upset is because we could tell that Rios was going to get the nod regardless... Abril could have beat Rios up with a baseball ball, knocked him down, cut him up.... it didn't matter, the judges had it for Rios regardless. It's disgusting that this is what the sport of boxing has turned into...

It has so much potential.... look at the NBA, look how huge they are and they have no PPV games... but they are well organized. Now imagine boxing, which sells several million dollar pay per views per year... if it had some sort of a organization... it would actually be a legit sport but right now... all we have is crocked promoters who pay off judges!

I called it, and many others did as well... we all said... wow Abril is putting on a clinic but he won't win because the judges will give it to Rios.

Juanma suspended a year for making a bad remark on a referee... but Judges can sell out, and get nothing!

No, just showed Rios up to be one dimensional. Gave him movement, hit him with snappy shots, made Rios miss badly, sat in the pocket and basically gave Rios his right glove and left arm to hit...just pretty much out boxed him and made Rios look as crude as they come.
