I'm just glad that they're even showing Vitali vs Gomez... It's suprising enough to get any boxing on ESPN, period. Friday Night Fights has always been on ESPN2. They never show any boxing on ESPN.. ever. Asking for the undercard fights may be asking for too much, especially when no American fighters are participating.

What a treat, you would think a fight like this would be on HBO or something.

Vitali vs Gomez is very good for the fans, I agree..Getting a named fighter out there on ESPN so some of the people that can't afford HBO and ST can watch a named fighter...THANKS ESPN!

This is a very important fight for Boxing fans. I too hope the fight is exciting and that people watch it so ESPN will continue to show fights. ESPN reaches over 98 Million households in the US.

If ESPN can get a rating around 5 or higher I would consider it a big success...

Not familiar with TV ratings... but a 5 rating would mean 5 million viewers right?

Hopefully we get a good fair referee and good judges for the fight. Nothing could be worse for the sport than one of the fighters schooling the other one and getting robbed on the scorecards. The casual fan that watches won't tune in again if that happens.

No, the US rating system is quite a bit difficult to understand but a rating of 5 at this time of the day (must be 3 or 4 pm on a Saturday) would indicate a viewership of approx. 3.5 mio viewers.

Dear Americans, correct me if I am wrong...

I doubt there is an undercard but I'm just stoked its on ESPN. Thats wicked awesome news for boxing. I dream of the days that Boxing can reach a wider audience.
