Is Eubank vs DeGale, one of the best examples of a boxer needing multiple knockdowns to get a draw?

I mean, I remember Eubank committing ONLY one foul and getting a direct point deduction without any warnings.

Meanwhile, James DeGale committed multiple fouls in every single round, without even getting a sufficient warning, much less a point deduction.

Secondly, Chris Eubank Jr scored multiple legit knockdowns and wasn't officially credited for any of them.

Thirdly, Chris Eubank Jr won pretty much every round!

Yet, despite all of this, the scorecards were a total travesty due to its inaccuracy!

None of the judges had the bout, wider than a 10 point margin (when that should've been the case, if we take into consideration the multiple knockdowns Eubank scored, the near shutout Eubank produced and the amount of points that should have been deducted from DeGale for his fouls).

In reality, DeGale should have been disqualified by the 6th round or the judges should have scored it 120-100, in favor of Eubank.

I mean, to give DeGale any more points, is to totally ignore all the knockdowns Eubank scored, all the rounds he clearly won and all the fouls DeGale committed.

It's like Eubank had to drop DeGale in a round, and also had to dominate him in that round, just to win that round 10-9. Whilst the referee was ignoring all the blatant fouls that DeGale committed.

How can anybody still claim / argue that boxing isn't corrupted?

he did win but he was so scrappy and unskilled he deserved a poor outcome even as a win. He won it purely on workrate, a sad way to win a fight.

    117-109 was about right...

Not sure what these fouls and knockdowns were? Degale leaping up in the air to push his weight down on the opponent warranted the body slam for me but it was still a cynical foul.

2 knockdowns were scored, one of which he didn’t actually touch down but was held up by the ropes...Degale was hurt on other occasions and almost put down but you can’t score a knockdown for that.

Thought the other cards were too close but Howard foster pretty much always has a dodgy looking card...

The fight was scrappy, the first half of the fight there wasn’t that much in it. Eubank was a deserved and clear winner but it wasn’t a schooling...

Eubank didn’t really show anything new, Degale is a tricky customer though so I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt for the scrappy performance...Degale looked shot to bits though...

Degale was allowed to get away with so much it was ridiculous. He made Andre Andre look like a clean and honest fighter.

Degale had no intention of fighting, he was only interested in pot shots, smothering and wrestling.

Eubank went right up in my estimation after he body slammed him down to the canvas, the only disappointment is that he didn't break his back in the process. He'd have cemented legendary status if he had picked him in air and dropped him on his head

So glad Degale has decided to retire so we dont have to witness anymore anti boxing and ugly fights

Andre Andre was such a little *****. He was way worse than either Andre Dirrell or Andre Ward.

Only those Canelo obsessives seem to believe otherwise for obvious reasons.
This is a good post and a good example of the corruption as folk wouldn’t necessarily think of this fight?one fight I use as an example and it still makes me boil thinking about it was Taylor v Postal,Postal was up in the fight and fighting out of skin and Taylor really had to pull it out to get the win and yet the scorecards make Postal out like some journey man getting a whooping, the way some of these guys are coming over to the U.K. and humbly taking these robberies makes me wonder if they’ve been told how it’s gonna go down.

Canelo v GGG is a good example of how it doesn’t matter what happens in that ring on the night, doesn’t even matter that as much as 90% believe one guy won.Its all about who you are,who you know and looking back in hindsight they were never gonna let someone on the cusp of a 380 million dollar deal lose that fight.
Someone on here the other week said his wife can score these fights and I’d add that my own mother can as well, scoring most fights is not difficult and in many cases women don’t complicate stuff like men do,point being, these awful scorecards are not down to being inept.

He was the worst imo.Hate it when folk compare his “inside game” to Duran’s inside game, one punched his way in and out of the clinch and the other just straight up wrestles.
