In the lower weights Thailand, Japan and Philippines seem to dominate and are taking the position of Mexicans down there...oddly the Mexican's are starting to take over the more middling divisions (Canelo, Chavez, Sanchez, Periban) with Europeans take the higher weights...

OK that's simplifying it a fair bit but in the next 5-10 years expect a lot of the top guys between 154-168 to be Mexican. 112-118 to be shared between the 3 Asian countries I mentioned.

America was only ever the centre of boxing because thats where you could make the most money and that still is the case, however if that changes and it turn out Germany is the place to earn a living then so be it.

Do you means, Thailand, Japan and Philippines TOGETHER, dominate and are taking the position of Mexicans, that would be true, but still Mexico alone has more fighters holding one or more of the 5 main tittles, from 105 to 122

Mexico - 5 fighters, in 5 different divisions
Japan - 4 fighters, in 3 different divisions
Philippines - 3 fighters, in 3 different divisions
South Africa - 3 fighters, in 3 different divisions
Thailand - 3 fighters, in 2 different divisions

Going by that Mexico is still the one with more champs and thought out more lower weight divisions.

Now going to the Middle Divisions from 126 to 154 (funny thing is Middleweight would be among the big divisions)

Mexico has 8 fighters holding at least one of the major tittles, through out 5(6 if Marquez hadn't been robbed on his last fight) of the 6 middle divisions.

Now at the Big divisions 160 to Heavyweight

It's pretty even with Germany with 3 and U.S., Russia, Ukraine all with with 2.

    Small weight divisions - Mexico
    Middle weight divisions - Mexico
    Big weight divisions - Germany

    Over all - Mexico

An important thing to look at is the amount of prospects coming through the ranks atm, doesn't look so good for USA, and they are doing worse than they've ever been in the amateurs. Future doesn't look bright for them.

I think Europeans because of their genetics will rule the Heavyweight division for some time to come. There really is no HW talent coming through in America right now.

Yes I mean the 3 together and I'm talking about the foreseeable future as opposed to right now. The likes of Tobe, Melindo, Cuello, Saludar and co are really coming through at the lower weights.
At 105-No Mexicans hold a proper title (Japan X2, South Africa, Thailand)
At 108-No Mexicans hold a proper world title (Philippines X2, Nicaragua, Thailand)
At 112-Mexico has Tyson Marquez (other titles Phillipines X2, South Africa)
At 115-Mexico has Juan Carlos Sanchez Jr (other titles in Argentina, Thailand, Japan, 2 Japan v Thailand coming up)
At 118-Mexico has 2 guys (Arce, Mares) then you have 2 Japanese guys (Kameda, Yamanaka) and WBA Super champion Moreno (Panama)
    122-Philippines, Japan, Cuba, South Africa

Unless I'm counting wrong Mexico has 3 title holders in 3 divisions, Japan has 5 or 6? Thailand has champions in 3 divisions and the Philippines has champions in 3 divisions. I've only included the big 4 titles (I've slipped in the WBA Super title once).

126 and 130 are pretty poor at the moment though Japan has two of the top guys at 130, whilst Mexico has 2 of the title holders at 126.

135 is a mess with titles

Europe is the major force in boxing right now, and has been for a few years. It's undeniable.
