It's pathetic when americans constantly use the NFL excuse, but when pointed out that Europe has the same problem of other sports draining its athletes (the #1 sport in the world no less, not some shitty sports invented and only played by americans like handegg :yep) they quickly dismiss them saying football players would never make it in boxing, yet their crystal ball tells them NBA and NFL players would dominate the HWs :rofl

This thread is hilarious, we have about as much right to claim sergio as the Americans do, In Europe no one cares about boxing, most of us ignore the existence of the sport intill about the age of 13-14 due to the fights being on too late,

I'm not sure how the rest of Europe works, but in Britain most people have a social life to balance alongside either being good at sports or academic subjects, the ones who are good at sports tend to have started this sport at 6-7 years old, The children with athletic potential are taken at a young age by football clubs and taught how to play, the only ones what become boxers are the ones what are either really interested when they start to watch it, forced to by their parents (this is 0.0001%), and kids who aren't good enough at football.

 

Also more defending Britains lack of boxing talent, notice how the majority of boxers are from poor families or families which have had generations of boxers?

The latter will no longer exist soon as boxers are now highly paid, therefore their children are getting a better upbringing, getting a very good education and making money in other ways.

Poor families here are helped more with housing associations and the benefit system, therefore dont resort to boxing.
