Is Evander Holyfield one of the all-time top 10 heavyweights?

  1. There is no way a 46 year old Holy who will be outweighed by 100-120lbs is gonna win against Valuev:-( it ain't happening..
Holy is gonna get KO'D hard..

He did go 1-1-1 with Ruiz but you can argue Holyfield really won two of them.
Rahman was a bum, then why is the current champ fighting him then? actually back then Rahman was still a live fighter Holyfield beat him past his prime that speaks volumes to the mans skill level.

Moore, Tyson, Bowe, Mercer, Douglas, Foreman are all solid wins for Holyfield and the reason I say Foreman is becuase George still went on to win a Title after the Holyfield fight.

defently top 10 no doubt about it.

Good post. Rahman was a good win at the time.

Rahman is not a one hit wonder as these ****s are saying, he knocked Lennox the **** out something that Holyfield couldnt do, something that Vitali couldnt do.

Not only that he also knocked out Corrie Sanders who later destroyed Wlad klitschko, and also who Vitali had to fight to win the vacant WBC title.

If someone asks you for your top 10 of anything, you can either give it, or take your attitude. If we all had your attitude, it would be a dull old forum. If you can say with conviction that Ali is better than Holyfield, then you can reason out a top ten. If you don't agree, don't participate then.

    (Not quite undisputed.)

Took the title from a bloated, out-of-shape and psychologically damaged Douglas.

Defended it against two senior citizens and one mediocre journeyman, before losing it to Bowe.

    Four times, I believe.

And if a guy wins the title four times, it means he lost it three times.

Joe Loius was a one-time world champ.

Would he be more highly regarded if he had lost and recaptured the title four times between 1937 and 1949 ?

Has a narrow Majority decision over Bowe, and also two decisive losses.

Post-prison Mike. Not shot, but well past his best.

Again, a split record with Moorer. A win and a loss.

Both men WELL past their best
(A near certainty both would have beaten him in their primes)

A win, a loss and a draw here. And John is a nice guy, but... ???

A fair win, if close before the hematoma caused the stoppage.

Possibly the greatest ever cruiser, but not on my top 10 heavywt list.

I'd rate him above Tyson. And above Lennox Lewis.
    But below Holmes.

Probably around 7 or 8 on all all-time list.

    Absolutely, without a doubt.

I don't see any reason he should be ranked lower than Liston, Patterson, Tunney, Dempsey, or Jeffries.
