Is Evander Holyfield one of the all-time top 10 heavyweights?

Thanks ThreadStealer, but the guy really should have been able to work this out for himself, him being such a smart guy and all.

Ah hell, I'll bite again. Haglerfans, would you please answer my question regarding Pacquiao/De La Hoya and his P4P placing in relation to his WW placing? Disregard everything else, just answer that question.

Sorry guys, I have to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he knows he's in the wrong here, the concept is just too simple. I just can't fathom such ignorance unless he's trolling. Either way, answer the question Haglerfans.

I have Hollyfield outside the ten aswell

    Ali
    Louis
    Liston
    Lewis
    Frazier
    Johnson
    Jeffries
    Tyson
    Holmes
    Marciano
    Foreman

Are above him, so no higher than 12, and arguably behind Dempsey and Wills.

I usually rank Holyfield anywhere from 11ish to 20, but I have to admit that my lists aren't really ever set in stone and change pretty regularly due to me being easily swayed by different strengths and weaknesses at any given point in time. If I wrote in stone there'd be nothing but dust and rubble left by now.

Without attaching numerical numbers to each, there's Louis, Ali, Dempsey, Holmes, Marciano, Lewis, Jack Johnson, Liston, and Jeffries that I'd rank over Holy consistently, and that's 9 fighters there without getting into other guys like Tyson, Frazier, Foreman, etc for whom a good case could also be made for being ranked over Holyfield.

Still nothing to sneeze at, though.

I'm a big fan of him, but at a push he makes the top 15 at best IMO.

I'm not sure what a "Top Poster" is, but I sure as hell know what isn't:

No way Holyfield is a Heavyweight AT-Top10.

Losses vs. Bowe (twice), Moorer, Ruiz and almost losses vs. Bert Cooper are too bad for his HW legacy.

He is a great boxer and the ATG Cruiserweight #1, but at HW he was not really great.

He brought in Pac as an example, to prove his point about p4p ranking being altogether different from HW ranking. I suspect you know this, and are merely being deliberatlely obtuse in order to cloud the issue that you are losing badly.

Hey, while we're on this topic, what would a win over Valuev do at this stage in Holyfield's career for his legacy?

 Yeah, you're definitely a troll. I now feel silly for wasting all that time "debating" with you. You reeled me right in, well done. At least people realize you for what you are now and will never take you seriously again. That has to count for something.

    Clearly not.

Bowe is a nobody and only has little Evander on his resume. However, it was still really well done of Evander to beat a much bigger fighter, so in a p4p sense it was great for Evander.

Evander was a brilliant CW and he showed against Tyson that against anyone his own size he is VERY effective. In a p4p sense I rate Evander highly, but he is not one of the 10 best HWs ever. He simple had his size against him.

That is an absurd statement on more than one level.
