Is Evander Holyfield shot or is he just old, or is he both?

The reason i ask because a few things seem to become apparent with a shot fighter, the thing that usually sticks out to me more than anything is the poor balance of the particularly fight, example.... Hasim Rahman vs Wladimir Klitchko, Eric Morales vs Zahir Raheem, now i can remember thinking to myself that Holyfield looked like a brittle fighter when he lost to James Toney & Larry Donald but his balance did not look bad like a shot fighters would, with all that said he is how old now? and his balance still looks pretty decent, well good enough to put on a performance against Valuev that should of saw him reclaim a version of the HW title, so i ask you is Holy shot or just old, or is he both?

Im not saying he is shot or not i would like to get your take on it though.:deal

And if you want to talk about guys like Toney, then he could never form a sentence.

Evander used to be able to speak with words, however badly.

Still, he is an elite fighter at heavyweight.

    Both

Maybe he isnt "shot" in the physical sense as badly as other fighters have been. Holyfield has always maintained excellent physical fitness.

But he is nowhere near what he once was, and combined with him being almost 50, he is as slow as hell and its painful to see him still fighting.

Not to mention I have no doubt he is suffering from pugilistic dementia. He'll likely be dead before 60

Both, I think it's amazing he is still active, he has fought a crazy amount of elite guys and he is still going?

Still, for a shot and old fighter he still puts the fat slobs who populate the division to shame in terms of conditioning.

Yeah and how astonishing is that when you consider the amount of wars he has been in? Whitaker was a better defensive fighter than Holy and took less punishment but look at Pernell's speech pattern, you would think he had wars with Bowe, Cooper, Stewart, Dokes, etc etc. crazy!

Holyfield is a warrior no doubt, the man has an insane chin and can take ungodly amounts of punishment

Also, he has ALWAYS kept in top physical shape, and he has always trained at a very high level using the most effective methods possible.

Additionally, I do not doubt for an instant that Holyfield has utlizied anabolic steroids and probably HGH in the last few years to maintain his conditioning

These enhancements have aided his recovery time and effectively maintained his physical conditioning

Im not criticizing Holyfield for that. Im a huge fan of Evander, but the evidence is just blatantly obvious

We have to remember the massive advantages that come with being on HGH.

HGH in older men is highly effective in maintaining muscle mass and keeping bodyfat percentage low. It also is an effective enhancer for muscular recovery

Its very expensive, but Holyfield certainly has been able to find the the money. Its not something he would take year around anyway

Shot fighters either get ko'd brutally or totally outclassed. Hasn't happened to Evander yet. He is about 18 years away from his prime, but he is not shot.
