Its an interesting question and kind of hard to say. I think the biggest issue is his neurological health more than anything else and that is why I hate to see him still fighting. As far as physical conditioning he is amazing for his age and of course he is on PEDs for it but its not like they do all the work for you. As far as what he has left ability wise it is hard to say. I mean he isnt loosing to Leon Spinks and Kevin McBride type guys and he is competitive with the top 10 but I think that also due to how bad the talent pool is at heavyweight and if you look at his record the last really good heavy he fought, Toney, battered him. There is no doubt he would be brutally stopped by Wlad, Vitali and Lewis had he fought them after the Toney fight. He cannot reach the top so I think he should retire his dream of being undisputed champion is never going to happen as long as Wlad is around and he just doesnt know when to stop. I mean he is impressive and physically he isnt shot but just due to his age and the amount of wars he has been in, mentally he is shot.
Both shot and old, the guy's not gonna stop fighting until he ends up in a wheelchair, guy's like him never learn until it's too late:-(
Nick is light for a man of his height. Evan is too, but he was a skinny twig as an adult. Didn't even start off at heavyweight.
Yeah. I saw a recent interview where he broke down Pacquaio/Mayweather fight and he seemed fine to me to.
Personality change is the first sign of pugilistic dementia. Slurred speech is an advanced symptom The news of Holyfield's pattern of behavior of violence and aggression towards his wife certainly could predicate that his boxing career has damaged him neurologically.
I also think it might effect a fighters rationalization to, i mean why on earth would Riddick Bowe consider fighting ever again? why would Meldrick Taylor of continued to fight in the state he was in toward the end? thats more than money and going after the limelight imo. I think thats brain damage effecting the rationalization of the person, we know it effects personality so.........
Both, 47 years old is ridiculous. But hell, I still think he can put on a good ass whoopin on some of these younger guys
I think he's just too old, for his health he should call it a career. With that said, I thought he did a better job against Valuev than Haye did.
Shot? Of course he is. His punching power is gone. His wife took 3 full shots, including a rabbit punch, and Evander couldn't KO her.
