    Witter not keen on welter

    Junior Witter's trainer Dominic Ingle says there is no immediate possibility of his charge moving to the welterweight division, insisting fighters there would be as reticent to meet him as the best 140-pound pugilists.
    The WBC champion seems likely to fight dangerous young American opponent Timothy Bradley in May after his March 22 bout with Demetrius Hopkins fell through.
    With Ricky Hatton in no rush to meet him, there is an argument that moving up a division to perhaps the most competitive in boxing could give Witter the high profile bouts that could make him a bigger name.

    //
    Ingle feels fighters in this division would also stay away from Witter, especially Floyd Mayweather Jr.
    "I think he'd have the same difficulty getting the matches there," Ingle told setantasports.com. "He could [move up] but i dont think even the guys at 147 want to fight him.
    "There's too much risk for too little reward. The thing with Junior is he's not a massive name but he's the WBC champion and that's his best bit of bargaining power. Let's get some unification bouts together and see where it goes from there.
    "Don't forget Junior was the number one contender when Floyd Mayweather was the 140 pound champ and he moved up to 147.
    "He probably didn't want to face Junior because there wasn't enough money in it."

    At 140 yes, but Junior Witter knows better than to go up to 147 where he would catch another L easily by most of the top 10 fighters there.

    The top guys at welterweight would most likely smash him.

    Half the people at WW moved to that division for the sole purpose of ducking Witter, that's a well known fact.

    Witter's not the kind of fighter that gets smashed, but beat him yes. The top guys at light welterweight would most likely beat him also....

    I'd love to see Witter beat Bradley, another title holder, and Hatton, the move up to 147. A rematch between he and Judah would be interesting.

    Who is Witter? Oh, the guy who ran in circles from Zab. Give it a break, hatton does not feel he should fight him and now everyone is ducking Witter. Be lucking he has a title. He falls to the "you can't make no money with this guy" column. Make some noise with your fists instead of making stupid claims about who is afraid of him or who is ducking him. What, if Bradley knocks his ass out then what. I had a bad night, blah, blah, blah. Just concentrate on who is in front of you for now and make a statement with a KO or a dominating performance.

    Everyone's ducking Witter at 147, true say...

    ....hang on, what's that you say? Witter got offered a match with Cotto and rejected it?

    Legend in his own head is Witter.

    Witter just needs to stay at 140 and keep chasing Hatton.. He won't last at 147..
