Well he can hit and is exciting but what will happen when he meets an all-around fighter who is good, can hit take a shot and box. Lets see Valero have to go to plan B with a versatile opponent. Until then I at least welcome the excitement he brings.

i think his rating as number 3 lightweight - after ONE fight! is premature. has he really achieved more than a katsidis- or even a khan for that matter?!? he s a great talent- and will be a star- but i think its a case of it coming a bit earlier than he deserves it- which is the complete opposite of someone like paul williams's problem.

people are already putting him in with guzman , pacman, and marquez!!??! i still consider him a talented champion prospect!!! 2 more fights against world class- then he s a contender- THEN and ONLY then should he be getting the kind of love he s getting. I think its a lot due to Doug Fischer- and his credibilities Need to have Valero be successful. if valero goes down- so does dougs cred, so now- that ring( surprise surprise ) have him at 3. Doug can always say- if he loses:
"well he got to no.3 - better than all but 2 in the whole world at his weight!! i was kind of right!"

he ll be good- perhaps- but lets wait til he does before we give him the keys.

He'll probably beat some A class fighters..but sooner or later, the hype will all go down the drain when he finds his match

valero is one of the hardest punchers i've ever seen really, but power alone is not enough to hang with a lot of different styles for a long time..

though i'm hopeful he'll prove me wrong

25-0.May sound impressive. Take a look on who are those 23 fighters he beat.
You'll know if it's worth talking about or not..

Make it 35-0. At the end of the day. it's not only numbers that counts, it's the quality of boxers which Valero defeated that matters..

As of NOW, they could only talk about Mosquera and ULTRA prime 39 year old PITALUA.

That's right ! Only TWO BOXERS out of 25 wins are worth mentioning!

FINITO and JEFF M would not have the balls to talk about who the 23 boxers are coz it's like digging their own grave!

To me he looks like a hype job. Someone with skills is gonna school him like Lacy & Pavlik got schooled.

You better not be a David Haye fan, talking like this. Because what you just wrote, sounds a lot like David Haye's situation.

i get what the gist of you're post man, but i think you've you've gone to the extreme on the other side of the spectrum as well. valero's got definite flaws from what we've seen, and i'm not sold on him (yet). but the guy has some good things going for him namely power and some good speed. i think he'd beat a decently ranked lightweight like katsidis.
