No offense, but only a betting man can say that they didn't/wouldn't root for Pac against Barrera. Being a PAc fan, or any fan of any top contender that you like..seeing your man fight the popular champ, and win validates why you like the fighter you like and picked him to beat the champ. I was truly suprised at the way PAc fought J.M.M way more than how Pac fought and beat Barrera.

The reason why I dis Pac's comp is because I have not seen Pac in enough wars like the Juan Marquez fights in which he truly proved himself to me, and I wanted to see Pac in those types of fights more often. Name and age mean nothing to me when it comes to boxing, but at what stage you fought ghe guy in is what matters to me. If the guy fights back or can still fight is all that matters.

Guzman, Soto, Reyes, Katsidis, Funeka...one of these guys is who Valero should be fighting next. He has the date and PPV, July 25, now get a decent opponent.

Valero has 25 and only recently beat a guy with the name "No Honmo", go figure.

All we're saying is before starting comparisons and all of that let's see him prove his self against better opponents then we'll take these praises and comparisons seriously.

Ur wrong about that CHOLO.. Maybe there are a few who questions Gamboa's resume but im not one of them. The reason why im not sold on him are two things..

    - He fights with his hands down... All the way down..

    - HE backs straight back with his chin in the air instead of moving out in angles..

Those two flaws alone will backfire on him soon. It's enough to get him KTFO once he faces a counter puncher with real power.

Scar, you aren't telling us anything we don't know, and so far because Valero has not fought anyone in your eyes, and others...people will side with you-for now! Don't worry, his comp will get better. I judge fighters on talent, and situations that I've seen fighters in, and Valero has proven to me that he is the goods, weak resume to you and all.

David Haye fought an ex world champion and very tough customer in Carl Thompson in his 11th fight. Yeah he lost but the point is he stepped up and was not trying to con the public by padding his record.

Valero is a fraud until he fights top guys like Marquez, Guzman, Casamayor, Katsidis etc.

I would not even mind seeing him against some contenders like Prescott, Peterson, Khan or Moses.

Fans can't help it. They love to talk about their man. If a fan sees it now that their guy can/has the potential to beat a good to great champion, so be it. Fans know that Valero has to update his resume, but it won't stop them from talking along the way. There is a point of criticism, and then there is a point of unfair criticism of Valero, and I'm not accusing you of either. The talk of fighters is one thing I care/don't care about, but I judge strictly on talent and potential...and I don't annoint just anyone.

Pitalua fought bums, only beat Santa Cruz and is like 40 years old. Meh. Not impressed. Yeah Valero had Pitalua all figured out from the opening bell and decided not to show his boxing skills, 0 defense and chin up in the air against a puncher. Right.

Sure thing, he proved to you that he's the goods but to me he proves nothing so far for reasons I mentioned.

There is a clear difference between rooting and picking/favoring. I wanted him to win, but I didn't pick/favor him to upset MAB.

His first battle with MAB was a war, a very physical, albeit a one-sided one. Then he fought JMM twice, which were epic wars at best. His 1st fight with Morales was likewise a bloody war. Not to add the rematch, where he had to rally to dominate and eventually knocked out Morales. With them, you had alraedy 5 fights where he showed his toughness and heart.

    How can you overlook them?

Who did Chavez fight in his 11th fight? Who did a lot of champions past and present fight in their 11 fight? They told me kostya Tszyu was fighting kiler comp on his way up, but when you look at it, those guys were old. You don't even have a point. Haye's people thought that they could beat Thompson, and Haye ran out of gas against an ex-champ. How many times have we seen that happen? Plenty...

That's all cool, that's what keeps the boxing discussions living. But it just gets annoying when it gets over the line with the "threats to Pacquiao" nonsense.
