I'd like to see Marquez vs Pacquiao III, but realistically JMM will have to leave GBP in order to get the fight.

If he loses, where does he go then?

There's still plenty out there for him at 135 and 140, ideally the Morales fight wouldn't happen but money talks, it's a fight that lots of people will pay to see unfortunately.

    Exactly.

If Pacquiao or Mayweather announced a fight against a guy who was considered "shot" FIVE YEARS ago and hadn't beaten a top 10 ranked opponent for SIX YEARS, they would be hung, drawn and quartered on here.

JM Marquez deserves to be lynched. This is one of the most grotesque match-ups of this century, Calzaghe-Jones and Hopkins-Jones 2 level.

We all know morales is shot, we recently saw hopkins fight a rematch with a shot fighter but then went on to fight a big fight with pascal. I don't think any of the mainstream media in the US will be hyping that fight, marquez is no longer p4p top 3, so as of now all eyes are not on him. However all eyes are currently on pac, and choosing to now fight mosley after mosley last 2 dire performances says a lot.

The double standard is disgusting, and I see it all the time on here.

This can't even be compared to Pacquiao/Mosley....this fight belongs on ESPN Classic and not on HBO.

    :patsch

So Pacquiao 1 was not the best win of Morales's career then?

I think it was. I think most people do, moron.

So because a guy is not the p4p#1, he has a free pass to fight shot fighters? :huh

    Pathetic. But not unexpected. :dead

Yes it's a joke fight. Much less of a joke fight than Pacquiao/Margarito, though.

This fight doesn't mean much for JMM's legacy. It reminds me of Khan-Barrera. It's just a way for JMM to boost his popularity status and rightfully so since he is still hasn't hit superstar level yet. He SHOULD be challenging Khan or giving Rios a chance. JMM-Morales is a bad match but if it's going to make casual fans more aware of Marquez then I can't fire him just yet. Yes, I'm a fan and it may sound like I'm making excuses for him but if he was already as big as Pac or Floyd and still took the fight with Morales then I'd be up in arms about it. At least Khan took the very low risk/high reward fight early in his career. There's no excuse for a well established elite who has immense PPV drawing power to fight a clearly shot to **** fighter who has no chance at winning.

:huh Marquez has been a marquee name since he fought Pacquiao to a high-profile draw in 2004. He has been involved in many big fights since then (Barrera, Casamayor, Diaz), and a couple of huge fights since then (Mayweather, Pacquiao II). He is a proven ppv seller, longtime p4p top 3, and an HOF candidate. He is not as big as Pac or Floyd, but no-one is other than those two. Does that mean every other fighter in the world can feast on shot names then? Does it hell. It's a dog**** fight and there is no justification for it whatsoever.

Morales was shot in the first Pacquaio fight. Accept it.
