Against the top 10 at the time.

If yes, why? If no, why not? And does it highlight how weak this heavyweight era is if a white-collar fighter has managed to rise this far?

As a bonus, feel free to also bring him into the 90s era. (Decade of the giants) Thank you.

    No. Full stop.

He beat a coked up Parker in a fight he was losing. He beat Huni in a fight he was losing. He is the brittish Wilder.

Yes, 6'5, durable, very athletic for his size, explosive power in both hands. You have to be kidding yourself if you think Wardley is not some genetic freak compared to Lyle, Bugner or Shavers

The reality is he'd break the top 5-3 at some point if we teleported him to the 70s division, he's already done it in this era and the talent pool during the golden age wasn't any deeper, it just had a stellar top 4

Depends on the exact years. Preliminarily, he looks to be more talented than guys like Shavers.

Wardley is powerful and would be a threat in any era, Shavers wasn't particularly skilled so he knocked out the skilled Norton...

Riddick Bowe would have absolutely schooled Wardley.

the question is how much can he improve. He’s pile of raw talent and genetic luck. If he can keep improving, he could really be something. In addition to his power, athleticism, and explosiveness, he’s got those intangibles, his response to being hurt, that junkyard dog in him.

then again, Wilder had all that…

Fringe contender. Richard Dunn, Jurgen Blin, and Jean-Pierre Coopman level. If he's lucky maybe he's a Joe Bugner/Oscar Bonavena type

Once Wardleys career is over after a few losses on his resume.........this thread will be laughed at.

Does his power magically disappear in the 70's? He will always be dangerous, no matter the era. On boxing skill he isnt top 20 in any era but the power is the game changer.
