I think Fedor could be P4P1. He is a heavyweight but a small heavyweight who carrys about 20 pounds fat. He has beaten giants and small skilled guys so within the heavyweight divison he is mixing it up with different sized/skilled fighters. The man is unstoppable. I don't think Silva is number1, nor is BJ. I think GSP can contend it. My only issue is I can't see Fedor losing in the way GSP did.
Yep, greatest MWT that ever lived, its defo between him & Fedor for all time best, you cant take Sak`s recent fights on board, he`s been absolutely shot for yrs but loves fighting so much he wont give it up, shame really, he`s gonna get brain damage.
greatest MW that ever lived? For accomplishment okay, maybe, I'll favour Anderson Silva over him in a fantasy matchup. And its not between fedor and Sakuraba for the greatest..Fedor IS the greatest of all time, you cant argue it. It's nothing against Sakuraba really, just that Fedor, has no equal.
No, no it isn't. Saku is great fighter and a great entertainer but he's not GOAT. There are others that have had great success to match Saku.
Lets see Fedor and Anderson dance to qualify and Unifiy the P4P label once and for all. Anderson is the only human I give a true shot, everybody else has been foreplay.
I was a skeptic for awhile.. He was fighting a lot of questionable opposition... and i quite frankly question anything that happened in pride. The way he destroyed Sylvia and Arlovski.. on top of who he beat in Pride.. has made me a believer. The guy has an almost unheard of killer instinct. You have to give him the #1 spot right now. Anderson is right there.. but i still want to see him fight some more. There are still guys i think could cause him trouble.. Damien Maia looks like he could be next in line. That guy has some serious skills. Mousasi.. Jacare would be interesting.. Wandy moving down to 185 could make for a good fight
I don't see how Anderson can be ranked higher than 3 or 4. Anderson has lost. Fedor has never lost and GSP has brutally avenged his losses or close fights.
Andersons last loss was an illegal upkick.. which is lame And the others were a long ass time ago.. and Anderson would surely kill those guys now. A hitlist with names like Henderson, Franklin, Marquardt is pretty damn good. The way he absolutely DEMOLISHED Chris Leben was also impressive. Leben might not be the greatest fighter around.. but he gives a lot of fighters a tough time. But I agree.. he needs to fight a few more guys to be #1 p4p...
I THINK Silva would avenge his losses. I KNOW GSP has avenged his losses. See the difference. A hitlist with Hughes x2, BJ Penn x2 etc is also good. Silva is looking amazing and when he went to 205 I thought wow this is where he will stamp his legacy. I just can't fault GSP. I just love the way GSP approaches the game in almost every way. Same with Fedor. How many more years will we talk about how he will lose. Many have come close but no cigar.
The only "loss" Anderson should bother avenging is the one to Yushin Okami. He is a top 10 185lb'er Ryo Chonan fights at 170... and he just lost to Brad Blackburn and Karo. There is no reason to see this fight. Fans would be pissed if it was even made. Takase has a sub .500 record. He has lost his last 4 fights. There is no reason for Anderson to be fighting him. Azerado is also a nobody... There is zero doubt as to who would win these fights if they were made. Silva is not the same fighter.
The middleweight division seems like everyone fighting just to see who can be the next to lose to Anderson Silva. GSP, IN HIS PRIME, got his ass handed to him by Matt Serra, who was a smaller fighter and already a long time veteran, with a not so great win/loss record. IMO, anderson and Fedor are in a league by themselves and they have one thing in common... the way they beat people is violent and ****ing scary. Just ask Rich Franklin, Dan henderson, leben, James Irvin, Alex Steibling, Tim Sylvia, Arlovski. Either Fedor or Anderson #1
I can't go on opinions. I must go on facts. One of Silvas victors could be his bogey man. Fighters like GSP on the other hand proved they were the better man. When all is said and done Silva will have achieved enough to make his losses almost moot points BUT not when being compared to a fighter who did right his wrong. In this case that is Fedor, GSP and arguably BJ.
