Chavez was an old ass man in 1996. Did you watch the Frankie Randall fights. Do you know who Frankie Randall is?
Just because someone finally loses, or doesn't look great in a fight doesn't mean that they are shot, or finished fighters. These people exchange punches for a living, that kind of **** happens.
Chavez had been a pro for about 15 years when they fought. Had near 100 fights. JCC was closer to the end of his career then anything resembling his prime.
Bottom line is Widdow, you were too ****ing young to remember. You were still hiding Playboys under your bed in 1996.
I was a Junior in High School and well into boxing. BTW, I am a huge JCC fan, and a fan of his son too. Although I don't expect the same success for his son that he had.
Because I don't have a simple mind. I like all different types of boxers, unlike most of you guys who are predictable and lame only liking fighters from your own country, ethnic backround, ect.... I was still a kid jumping up and down screaming as Chavez laid the smacketh down on Camacho.
I remember that fight well. The monicker was "Quien es el MAS MACHO?" and Hector Sr. earned his "Macho Man" nickname in that fight, as he didnt back down, and took a beating but kept on coming. We all thought he would run, and he proved our asses wrong.
