Tyson Fury and Wladimir Klitschko have both backed him to be the next heavyweight champion in the future. Michael Hunter has just ducked him. I mean come on this is the bounty Hunter we are talking about. The same guy who fought Usyk Povetkin etc. Hrgovic has been prophesied by many to be the next world champion. I have a feeling that he is gonna be avoided heavily. I've seen some of his fights he's big he's strong and he's young. A bit robotic and stiff but very powerful and heavy handed
Not that young any more. The big problem is they can't get him the fights he needs to develop properly. I thought he beat Tony Yoka clear in the Olympics so he's almost the defacto Olympic gold medalist from 2016. No-one decent is going to want to fight him unless there's big money on the table to do so & Hrgovic isn't advanced enough as a professional to command or generate big money. Quite the conundrum. The solution is to blow a lot of dollars getting him the fights he needs in the hope that he wins them & claims a world title so the person who has spent the money is then able to get a return on investment before their contract with him runs out.
We don't know until he fights some decent fighters. He looks promising but he seems to be stuck on the entry-level for far too long like his handlers are not confident putting him in with a live wire. I like to see him in against Chisora, that would tell us a lot
Hard to tell. He 's not fought anyone decent yet and doesn't seem to be in the near future . Not his fault. hardly any of the HWs seem to want to fight.
He today is not enough well known to generate big money. Top ranked boxers are more expensive, maybe this too is reason. Yeah, this might be cool if he might fight vs Chisora. If he is enough good to test Parker and Usyk, then why not to use him to test Hrgovic?
Not sure why so many are down on Hrgovic he's as huge unit, physically strong, powerful, accurate and throws a lot of shots, decent skills, great amateur pedigree, and for someone who is supposedly ''slow'' which he isn't not once have I ever seen him have trouble landing with regularity in any of the fights I've seen or his in the amateurs/WSB and pros. And on top of that he appears to have a cast-iron chin and has never been down or stopped despite facing tons of top SHWs and punchers in the amateurs/WSB and sharing a ring in sparring with absolutely savage punchers in Wlad, The Tuscaloser, Haye, and Dubois among others. And he stopped Dubois in the gym, and more than held his own against The Tuscaloser who was like 28 y/o and 28-0 at the time and Hrgovic was like 20 or something at the time. He also caused the cut to Haye's eye that forced the later to pull out of his clash with Fury during those sparring sessions. Fighters who've shared a ring with him and people who've seen him up close and personal sparring them speak very highly of him. He has a reputation for a reason. He also stopped three top Cubans in the amateurs/WSB This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected Check their records they ain't no mugs https://boxrec.com/en/amateurboxer/852701 https://boxrec.com/en/amateurboxer/852498 https://boxrec.com/en/amateurboxer/850300 And he was robbed of at least Olympic silver against Yoka This content is protected
Im not down on him. I think his team have failed him and he's become less relevant because he isnt progressing in the level of fighters he faces. I was excited about him a few of years ago but his career progression seems to have stalled in a big way
Because he beat 3 Cuban boxers are a amateur that makes Hrgovic a good pro? As stated by others Hrgovic has yet to face anybody worth mentioning as a pro. So as of now he is overrated.
Thread is a bit of a false dichotomy. We were definitely oversold, but given this sorry and aging lot of heavies, he could probably be a titlist of some sort anyway. Since he has had no pro career to speak of, we really don't know for sure, yet.
