Always coming back because he is broke or having pointless fights (Ortiz) or fighting fighters two weightclasses below him (JMM) or not fighting the best opposition out there (Pac, Sergio etc)?

His fights (Ortiz, The Ghost, JMM etc) are pointless.

No, he's a PPV league fighter. PPV league fights are often irrelevant, but they're not aimed at hardcore boxing fans so much as casuals.

Not quite...although he is a part timer with no compelling reason to stay busy and the freedom to stage infrequent events with promotion of grandiose magnitude beyond their worth, like DLH toward the end.

I don't see that coming around to bite him in the ass and him going out like DLH, though. :yep

He stays sharp and fit, always. No cocaine and junk food binges like Golden Boy.

This dude trains his usual 3-a-days in ****ing solitary confinement.

Asses are chapped raw that a flashy and flamboyant loud mouth (whose abundance of pigmentation may be a compounding factor in some cases) has spent years and remains alone at the top of the p4p heap instead of a guy more "likeable" in and out of the ring...whose career the last few years can itself be described as hype sold to the naive ...until he got KTFO by a thrice-wronged nemesis. :deal

Not sure I like IB's disrespect towards one of boxing's saviours, but I agree with the rest :cus

I've probably used that exact phrase.

From 2003-2008 helping to 'save' the sport (or at least bolster it).

Since mid-2008? Time-wasting novelty act. :deal

Ortiz was such a pointless fight

Ortiz & Berto will have left boxing soon... Rios clearly knows Ortiz isn't cut out for boxing...
Two big muscly skinny legged hypes.

Maybe if you mashed Berto, Ortiz and Guerrero together into some sort of mutant it could beat Mayweather...

    THIS

Floyd was untouchable back then (imo of course) and put on some real boxing masterclasses, but now its all about taking no major risk and earning as much as possible

I dont begrudge him for it although its a damn shame we never saw him v pac in 09
