Lol only on here is Floyd blamed for everything.

One has to ask the question why have so many people bought tickets for his fights and purchased ppv.

    Sure has destroyed Boxing lol

he's just another piece in the ongoing growing trend of boxings unpopularity (no sane, objective person wants to see illiterate, mass of phucked-up-edness mayweather on their tv screen). but it started when tyson took a chunk out of holyfield's ear.

from a non USA perspective he's the only American generating PPV viewers and ticket sales.

even the fighters mentioned such as deonty, Thurman, porter etc are struggling to sell our venues and generate tv ratings despite being perceived as exciting.

if anything mayweathers the only bright spark in USA boxing and when he retires boxing in the USA could take a bigger downturn.

In a few weeks boxing is projected to have its highest gross revenue in history and some idiot is asking if the guy responsible for it happening is to blame for the lack popularity in boxing?

The same guy that holds the top two highest ppv revenue numbers in boxing history You're asking if he's responsible for boxing lack of popularity.

Dude stick to making your signature corney threads about some unknown Eastern European fighter that no one have ever heard of. Alexandranovich " the hard hitting radioactive wind from Chernobyl " Rotchenko.:tired

I must conclude that these are only your opinions because of the lack of any numbers or data to support your statements. I also disagree your lumping of so-called casual fans in one group. There are just as many if not more casual fans who love the way Mayweather fights. Some people just love to see a winner and Mayweather is a winner. I respect your right to have opinions but that's all they are.

So, why does Floyd do so well in terms of ratings? He has done better than Tyson and Oscar.

Most people watch Mayweather because of the celebrity status. Most will say the fight sucked though. Jis high PPVs are not because people like the actual fights.

Great thread, but I have to disagree about Bud being in the same group as Mayweather or Andre Dirrell as in giving American boxing a negative rep. Crawford does fight defensive at times, but he's never in a boring fight. I think he's the real successor to Floyd, who in reality became a star cuz of DLH, but Crawford is doing it more grassroots, home grown style. America is really supporting Crawford and quickly becoming real popular without all the nonsense alot of the newer generation were doing thanks to Floyd. Crawford is making his own path, unlike Broner, who instead was more than happy to not to be original and be a Floyd copycat. I'd definitely categorize Crawford in the same group as Thurman is, Crawford is definitely NOT taking the easy way to s****om, he's earning it. Crawford is a big star from the midwest, only a matter of time he conquers America and then the world.

I kind of agree with TS. Of course it is not purely Fmj's fault and "guys" like floyd or better yet guys who fight like him shares fair shake of the deal killing the boxing.

America on a whole doesn't even know who in the **** Mayweather is, much less Crawford.

You should watch the Klimov fight:scaredas::scaredas:........and the Prescott fight:scaredas:.....and the Sanabria fight:scaredas:......and actually the Beltran and Burns fight. I like Terence he seems like a good dude but he's not exciting, Gamboa decided to fight like a re**** and made that fight exciting as hell.
