Is Floyd booking the MGM just another method of ducking by dictating time and place?

Serious question. Has he basically tried to get the upper hand by making this HIS promotion knowing Arum would never agree to that? We have already seen Arum's reaction. What happened to negotiations? This smells like an well thought out impediment to me.

Probably. After another set of 'failed negotiations', they will say that they had the date, the venue and everything in place and Pacquiao didn't want to do the tests or **** and Mayweather will go fight someone else on that date.

Then the Floyd huggers will make 100 threads on Pacquiao is ducking and ignore every other boxing match going on and completely talking about this bull**** time and time again, day after day, hour after hour.

Well I dont see whats so unreasonable, yes it makes negotiations a pain in the penol but why doesnt Arum call Mayweathers bluff and just agree to a date . . . its just a date, Pacquiao will have 6 months to recover from fighting a lightweight Marquez who he is more than likely to blow out of the water and if the testing isnt an issue anymore then why not?

Arum wont make the fight because 1. if floyd wins his cash cow is no more and 2. people watch floyd and pac fight because of the anticipation of a floyd - pac fight. the day pac fights floyd is the day pac retires

Date is one of the first things you negotiate followed by venue. Floyd knows this so why did he take those off the negotiating table once Pac agreed to the testing demand? Looks bad for Floyd in my opinion.

Arum was always a second rate promoter, first to King, then to GBP, and now to Mayweather productions.
Pac would be wise to find a new promoter. Arum is the main reason why this fight hasn't happened.

    i dont think its ducking

its floyd saying when and where he will be may 5

if manny wants the fight he can take it then and there

or if he dont want it some one else can fill the slot

kinda like when arum booked manny in dallas

Including this fight with Marquez, 5 of Pacquiao's last 7 fights have been at the MGM Grand. He has also fought on the first Saturday in May 2 of the last 3 years. Furthermore, this is just a tentative date and place. Nothing has been signed. I'm not sure how wanting to fight in place that Pacquiao has fought many of his recent fights and on a weekend that Pacquiao has been fighting on recently is a sign that Mayweather is ducking.

Difference is Floyd wasn't fighting anyone at the time. Pacs fighting jam. Pretty lame attempt at trying to distract pacquiao

on first nego, floyd insisted, iirc, on march 13,2010 date. also, when everyone (members of negotiating panel on both sides) was set to visit cowboy to hear what jones had to say, floyd insisted on mgm. team pac/arum relented.

this isnt new. the difference is, then, they were clearly negotiating. now, floyd just wants it in the media that he booked mgm may 5, supposedly against "little fella to make the biggest fight". when probed, he said he isnt aware he is fighting pac.

you can derive your own conclusion here.

my take is floyd needed to sign someone before pac-marquez 3 (remember the rumor nego with martinez?) so that he wont be pressured by the public after the pac-marquez3, especially if pac marquez knocks marq out and the ppv numbers overwhelms floyd's.

since its only a week or so left before pac fights, i would assume, the nego with martinez (or whoever, i thought it was berto, canelo could be considered too) broke down, and that he is now forced to negotiate with someone AFTER the pac-marquez fight.

he could say, they couldnt agree on date and/or venue so he has to sign someone since he already booked the venue, ifever someone why he cant fight pac.

however, i woulnt be surprised if he announced a fight on the eve of pac-marq3. he pulled that stunt before, so....

    my 2cents.
