By beating smaller great fighters to enhance your legacy. Hopkins step out of his comfort zone to take on Tarver, as Floyd did so to take on DLH. Hopkins retired then came back rather quickly... and now Floyd is doing the same thing. But I have to give Floyd credit, he is smarter than Hopkins, he is sticking with fighting smaller guys.

no. if floyd followed hopkins plan he would've beaten cotto by now. floyd is not in his 40's beating a younger, bigger fighter in his prime like hopkins did with pavlik. trinidad was also the favorite to beat hopkins, as was pavlik. don't get it twisted. smarter than hopkins? no. greedier? i think so.

Hopkins did not have his judges, venue, referee, commentators like Void. Hopkins is not void, but Void is void.

Doubtful. Mayweather made a career fighting bigger opponents, if you can't see that then you must have issues.

Marquez was never forced to move up, he wanted to move up and if it wasn't for the Mayweather fight it would have been for another, the guy wants to secure a third fight with Pac and this is his only chance. After this(if he wins) a possible fight with Pac/Cotto winner awaits or Mosley as already confirmed. I don't think you will consider Mosley/Pacquiao/Cotto as smaller guys.

He may have started his career pursuing bigger opponents but now it seems like he switch to Hopkin's mode. Marquez is just like Trinidad who moved up to face Hopkins (Mayweather), another similarity. But I will change my view once he is man enough to face Mosley or Cotto (but Cotto only if he beats Pac). Facing Pac would still be Hopkins mode. :D
