i think these kind of statements from floyd is actually a clever yet desperate move that could mess with pac team's head..

since pacquiao is considered the P4P king right now, an ego grows along with that kind of status and there's a possibility of pac's handlers thinking pacquiao is actually in a bad deal with arum and that could jeopardize his relationship with him or something to that effect..

i really think there's an agenda to this statement of floyd, do we really think that floyd is that dumb to make these kind of statements just to make himself look stupid?. i don't think so!!

    Your thoughts about this?.

The only rational thing i can think about is the fact that pacman only gets 27% of his money makes it incredibly difficult to strike a fight with him because arum is getting the other 33% so its more like trying to get a fight with arum more than anything else

    incredibly difficult?.:huh

if floyd just stop being unreasonable and agrees to 50-50 purse split which is already a generous offer for him imo, the fight could easily happen..

now tell me, is that the only reason you can think why floyd make such stupid statement?.:think

Floyd is such a cherry picking, money grubbing, coward ass ***** and pathetic excuse for a true champion. The fact is, Floyd on his own can't draw flies....its his last two opponents that brought in all the money he made and he acts like its him people want to see......do y'all remember his fight with Baldimor? That was the most disgustingly boring PPV title fight I have ever seen. Never before had I see people so f'n disgusted with boxing and walking out of the sports bar I used to frequent to watch the fights. What a disgusting era of boxing where pretenders like Mayweather and Haye hold the boxing world hostage with all this big talk, inflated ego and hype....but than never deliver on fighting the best. Its very simple people....in order to call yourself the best and an all time great...you have to consistantly seek out and fight the best....thats what a true champion does. Thank God we still have guys out there like Mosely, Cotto, Darchinyan and Paul Williams that win or lose, are willing to take on all comers....thats what a real champion does people. Those who still buy into this Mayweather fraud, I really do pity you.

    boxing is a 1 on 1 sport

the competition should be 1 on 1
the money should be 1 on 1

i guess floyd feels that with pacman its 2 on 1.... he has an extra party to deal with in arum so arum is going to try to take advantage of pacman & floyd because he is getting 37% of the money or whatever...

im just trying to make sense of it....

What are you talking about ?

    - Arum gets 27% of Pacquiao's purse not the other way around.
    It's a lot (too much) but that's Pacquiao's problem, not Mayweather's...

    - How man top boxers don't have a management or promotional team taking care of the negociations ? Fact is, very little amount of boxers deal on their own and it most often doesn't prevent good fights from happening when many $$$$ are on the line !

    - If the fight is 50-50, Mayweather willl still get the same amount of $$ whether Pacquiao was with Arum or not.....

So what's the problem ? There's none !!! Mayweather cannot be defended on that bull**** argument..sorry !

I'm reading this between the lines and I think it's more of a shot to Arum than MP. In his own weird way, he's telling Pac that Arum is taking advantage of him. He's definitely trying to mess w/ Pacs' ego.

psycologically floyd probably thinks that he doesnt need pacman and is the one doing pacman a favor by fighting him.... the same way he is doing jmm a favor by fighting jmm

so why should he have to bend over in the pacman negotiations?

pacman hasnt done anything or beat anyone that floyd hasnt beat either
floyd is still undefeated and pacman isnt
floyd ppv wise is a better seller

so he probably feels he should get the better deal in the contract but he knows that since arum is getting a piece of the money that he has to negotiate with an extra person which is probably a big hassle.... especially when the extra person (ironically the person not fighting) is the one calling the shots...

and floyd probably doesnt want to deal with arum trying to complicate the situation... especially when he is not fighting

I think he went into the interview with the intent of specifically mentioning Pac's deal. As a matter of fact, he goes into every interview with the intent to say all the things that he says.

Its not an excuse dumbass. What he's saying is that Pac doesn't have control over his own career, and as such, its not up to him who he fights, all of the decisions go through Arum. The 27% comment was a to make his point. Basiclly what Floyd is saying that its no point even discussing a fight with Pacquiao directly, because Arum calls the shots, not Manny, so he would have to do business with bitter rival Arum. But Floyd has already stated that if they wanted the fight, he would be willing to pay JMM step aside with the promise that he could fight the winner.

Is 50-50 a problem ? Is it ? Mayweather just needs to let his advisor make sure its 50-50 with Arum and that's it !! Floyd can concentrate on training and putting his ego in check...

Mayweather is doing favors....:patsch Pacquiao is P4P # 1 right now and what other fight out there would generate more total revenues worldwide anyways for PBF ? NONE !!!!

More money guaranteed and regaining the #1 spot should be more than enough motivation to make the fight !!
