Ok, so let's go with your example of basketball players being mathematical geniuses because they can throw a fcuking ball correctly after 10+ years of practice

There are braindead dumbass fishes that spit water from underwater to knock down insects for food. Are they genius mathematicians too? Tell me how a basketball player aiming a ball and a tiny fish with a grain sized brain aiming its water spit are different.

His boxing brain is ridiculous, absolutely second to none.

The way he can calculate angles, his timing, working out his opponents patterns, being able to work out what his opponent is being able to do well and then taking it away from them during a fight, his foot placement etc.

Definitely a genius in the ring.

What are you talking about? It's called "running after potshotting".
A genius wouldn't say the spastic things that escs from Mayweather's filthy mouth.

That may well be, but is see no indication that Mayweather suffers from either Asbergers syndrome or Autism - he may well be intelligent for a boxer, but I doubt that his out of ring IQ is very far out of the normal range.

He's brilliant in the ring, sure, and I guess you could use the word "genius" as a way of describing what he does in there - but I don't agree that he is a genius in the general sense in any way, shape or form.

Is it really that tough to understand? Oscar elevated Floyd's whole career from just a boxing champion to a PPV king simply by fighting him. And with oscar retiring, he handed over that title to Floyd. Of course, Floyd or his *****'s will never admit it, but all you gotta do is look at the level and sales of his fights pre oscar and post oscar.

If he took an IQ he might very well score terrible but my argument is that the IQ test doesnt even cover all facets of human intelligence so to question his IQ outside the ring is silly. There is no way to accurately judge someone's intelligence because it is all relative to what they are doing or what they need in their individual lives. IQ testing is flawed. Athletes are geniuses in their own right.

Is that what passes for genius these days? wow
Standards for pro athletes are so low that if he doesn't go broke, he's a genius :patsch
He also only wins all his gambles and never loses

For a non-hw with a slick defensive style that half the "fans" who DKSAB call boring to become the box mega star that he has take a certain type of genius. In the ring there is no doubt the guy is both the Einstein and Michelangelo of boxing . . . shear brilliance in the square circle:bbb
