It is more like "hit and run".

What fighter likes to be hit? This is the reason they learn how, to slip jabs, faint, bob and weave and block punches. For those that do get hit often there are consequence overtime from the abuse. So as a boxer, not getting hit often would be a good strategy if you care anything about your health. Floyd just happens to be a fighter who style is based on his defense. It served him well through out his career as we can all see. I wouldn't say he's afraid of being hit, but rather he prefers not to get hit if he doesn't have to.

mayweather dosnt like to get hit at all but i dont think anybody does even pro boxers.i think floyds reason is he knows that he dosent throw a lot of punchs and if he gets hit clean to many times he stands to lose the round or be forced into a workrate he is not comfortable with.his chin to me is suspect, mosley barley touched him clean with one right hand and he was falling all over the ****ing ring.oscar took plenty of mosleys right hands and never got hurt like that, but in all fairness to gayweather the idea of boxing is to hit and not get hit,he just needs to do a little more hitting.
