is he? last time i checked running away never solidified a fighters legacy.but floyd might be the first!!!!!
he fights more defensively now, but I think it has more to do with the fact that floyd isn't a big WW. I guess he realizes that he can't give his opponents openings since they're mostly bigger than him so he plays it safe. He was a beast at the lower weights though
Yes some of his fights are boring but not all of them, for example Both of the castillo fights, Corrales, Chop chop corley (Floyd even got rocked in a exchange), Gatti, Zab Judah just to name a few. The De La Hoya fight was extra boring, and the Hatton fight wasn't that exciting till the knockout so he has some duds in there to. www.youtube.com/watch?v=NW3no2Wzx8A
He got the boring tag because of his fights with Baldomir and Oscar. Practically every fight he has ever fought besides those have been anything but boring. He was a very offensive fighter before he moved up to 147. The only fight you could really call boring before that was 2nd Castillo.
floyd is very capable of being an exciting fighter but he always choose to be boring.. he'll lose his moniker pretty boy if he don't..
I pretty much agree with that, but I thought the last 3-4 rounds of the Hatton fight were masterful from Floyd.
I agree the last 3-4 rounds were masterful, but the fight went to the 10th rd and till then I thought it was kinda boring through the 6th rd.:tired :-((
