Is Floyd Mayweather "easily" the best fighter of the past 30 years?

    Well, based on achievements only.

    -Five weight champion

    -Undefeated

-Arguably Beaten four Top 10 P4Pers in De La Hoya, Castillo, Corrales and Hatton with a fifth potentially being Baldomir/Judah depending how you rate the undisputed 147lbers

-Only controversial win against Castillo, he rematched and beat Castillo easily

-Held P4P #1 spot for a number of years now.

Forget the image, forget who he's fought, forget what you think about his lack of competition. On Achievements alone, Floyd can quite comfortably be argued as the best of his generation.

He's not easily the best, but there is enough precedent to argue his case on achievements and at the end of the day, all you can do is achieve.

    He's one of the best.

But not better than Duran, Leonard, Hagler, Whitaker, just to name some.

No. Why does everyone like Floyd so much? He's good, but he's no Roy Jones jr.

Dude did you just say that baldomir could have possibly been considered at top ten p4p win for floyd:nut ? WTF are you smoking:rasta ? And frankly there's **** all on achievements to argue in Floyds favour compared to most other greats of the last 30 yrs:deal. I mean its good but its nothing better then the other greats, not to mention the main knock on the guy is that his resume is not as impressive as others and (more annoying) it could have been a lot more impressive then it is.

Jason Abelson is a grade A, bell end.

I saw him do a pre fight of Calzaghe and Hopkins, and all he did was slober over B-hops.

He did the typical Calzaghe has never proved himself as he has never fought in the US, B-hops is to tough, experienced, etc. Whilst totally ignoring Joes talents and achievements.

He just never faced that fierce a competetion in his time and most of it not being his fault. Yes hes jumped up alot in weight and beat good champions in them but how many ATG's of each weight division did he really beat? I mean in the last 30 years what would his record look like if he were to fight an Arguello at 130lb, a Shane Mosley, Duran, Chavez or Whitaker at 135, a prime DLH or Kostya Tsyzu at 140, SRL & Hearns at 147 and a Trinidad, Terry Norris or Wright at 154?

There's been some geat fighters in the last 30years, Floyd hasnt encountered any of them.

Welterweight, one of the glamor divisions and one that many of the best ever have been at.

I figure if you're undisputed at Welterweight, you're a Top 10 P4Per.. just as the undisputed Middleweight champion should be too.
