Every morning he wakes ups, he is a living legend. If he don't wake up, then he's a dead legend but a legend no less.
No. An extremely good fighter yes, but not a legend. Talk all you want about his talent, his "0", his longevity, ect. The bottom line is that he did not fight the next best fighter in his weight class, regardless of who was dodging who and whose fault it was. He never fought Pacquiao, end of story. You can say he has special talent, you can say he was never beaten, you can say it was Pacquiao or Bob Arum's fault that the fight never happened. You just simply cannot call the man a legend when he never competed against the biggest threat out there. That's like if Magic and the Lakers never played Bird's Celtics. They're both still incredibly skilled players in their own right, but they only achieve legendary status by competing with their fellow greats. Sadly Floyd and Manny will never be true legends of the sport, regardless of their abilities and potential. No matter how many years go by, anytime someone brings up one of them and points to the old films of their fights, and talks about how great they were, someone is going to reply with "yeah, but he never fought Pacquiao/Mayweather". They're just aren't those kinds of questions surrounding guys like Ali, SRR, Greb, Pep, Moore, and those guys. That's why they're legends. Floyd and Manny will still have a cloud over them a hundred years from now.
he is a living legend and he'll be mentioned amongst greats like Ali and Tyson in the future whether u like it or not. your children might even call him the GOAT. as a matter a fact, he already has people(professional boxers included) calling him one of the greatesr of all time.
Boxing fans once again only judging fighters by what they didn't do to fit agendas rather than judging fighters on what actually happened.
Because whoever he fights in May of 2014 completely determines his legacy, yup... C'mon dude, 2007 wasn't long ago, nor 2001 or 1998, so quit forgetting about his career and trying to divert attention to one fight, his first in over half a decade where the opponent wasn't champion of another division or top 10 in the division he fought them at.
For the record, I do believe there are multiple "Living Legends" who are still active today. Mayweather Pacquiao Marquez Hopkins Jones Holyfield Wladimir They don't have to be ATG's in order to be a living legend. Arturo Gatti was no ATG before he died, but he sure as hell was a living legend. Pongsaklek Wonjongkam - a living Thai boxing legend Chris John - a living Indonesian boxing legend
A living legend does not beat women... not just once.... not twice... but THREE times. Confirmed by the police authorities. A living legend is not a coward in and outside the ring.
Sugar Ray bashed up his wife, Ali cheated on multiple wives, Carlos Monzon was a ****, Jake Lamotta was a scumbag. Must be a Boxing Legend thing ey?.
