The Pac fight isn't going to produce the numbers at this point and Floyd knows it. Manny needs to get some serious wins under his belt first, not fights everyone knows he'll win easily.

And Floyd has definitely taken challenges...the Corrales, Hatton, and Alvarez fights were great examples, and even the Castillo rematch could have been avoided if Floyd wanted. But the cherrypicker label is going to stick...Floyd is unabashed about it these days. He's in a similar boat to Hopkins: He can kind of do what he wants and pick styles he knows he can exploit.

Hopkins has more than earned his right to pick and choose his fights. what he is doing at his age is intimidating, and I'm certainly happy to give him a free ticket to do whatever he damn well pleases from this point on

I disagree you completely that the pac fight won't do the numbers though. i'll bet my house that it breaks all records in a heartbeat

Styles he knows he can exploit? WTF are you talking about? He has faced every style there is. Slick, Pressure, volume punchers, power punchers, boxer punchers and the list goes on.

 It never gets old reading this from such clueless people who are supposedly boxing fans.

Didn't Floyd say publicly in a post fight interview that he was more than ready to get into the ring with Shane back in 2005? Remember Shane's epic toothache excuse when asked about the challenge?

Didn't Cotto admit during an interview, prior to his fight with Floyd, that neither he or Top Rank even attempted to try to make a fight with Floyd in the past?

Funny how the haters never remember such facts.

A legend is defined in many different forms, good or bad. Mayweather is the best boxer of his generation, all purists know this. There have been more exciting fighters in this time such as Pacman, Tsyzu, RJJ but as an overall great of the last 20 Years in all terms of charisma, talent, skills, boxing knowledge, defensive wizardry and sheer success Mayweather Jr is the standout talent of his generation.

Absolutely. No doubt about it. We're watching one of the best to ever do it so enjoy it while it lasts, because he won't be around much longer.

Not even close to a hater. I'm also a realist and can admit that fighters that I like often don't fight the most challenging fights. That's the fight game today and it is what it is, now f uck off with your fanboyisms :hi:

I see you ain't denying anything. The truth hurts doesn't it. It can't be labeled fanboyism when I'm bringing facts that actually happened.
