And many posters are saying it's not Manny, but the fear of losing period, or just plain looking bad that holds Floyd back.

And boxers HAVE been afraid before. It's not impossible to believe. Look at Spinks before he faced Tyson and tell me he wasn't afriad. :deal

Nobody's afraid of a Mega Payday. Especially when they are in phenomenal fighting condition.

Besides, it was the Tyson camp that was constantly dodging questions as to when they are going to fight Michael Spinks. Post fight interview of the Biggs fight they asked Mike and Mike referred them to Jim Jacobs. Jacobs told Larry Merchant that "Spinks is definitely in our future but not our immediate future."

    Was Tyson afraid?

Of course not. It's how you build up a fight.

Floyd is far too arrogant in his own ability to actually be scared of another fighter within his weight range even if he actually should be afraid.

The whole point was, Spinks was afraid, and anyone could see that.

It should come as not surprise that the best fighters at 147 that were Top Rank fighters didn't get in the ring with Mayweather.

Back when Floyd was still a Top Rank fighter he was supposed to fight Margarito. That would have happened but Mayweather wanted to fight

Margarito, Cotto, Hatton and De la Hoya.

Arum immediately rejected the idea of De la Hoya and low balled him with figures for his stable of fighters. Had he fought Margarito it would have come with strings.

Instead Mayweather fought Baldomir instead where he made less but was free from Arum. Afterwards he fought De la Hoya for significantly more money than he's ever made in his life up to that point. Then came Hatton where he also made a great deal of money. The bottom line is what it came down to.

If he fought a Top Rank fighter it would come with strings. And of course there was bad blood.

I genuinely believe he isnt scared of Pac. I think that maybe he is afraid of losing more than anything.

Heard this a thousand times. Why would Arum guarantee a purse to Floyd for the next 4 fights even before the proposed FIRST fight took place? :huh Was he doing that incase he LOST?

I believe due to styles and reach that PBF has a better edge if they fight. I cannot think of any reason why he is making these roadblocks to the fight happening except that he might have self doubts.

:yep I know, but it helps prove my point some, unless you want to counter it by saying Floyd became afraid of Pacquiao after the Cotto fight or Clottey fight or something like that
