Is Floyd Mayweather, Jr the only sub 160 lb fighter to beat Marvin Hagler in this era?

I agree but my point is he'll come forward, not sit back and wait to counter. That just plays into Floyd's strengths. You can't beat Floyd being a counter puncher.

And it's not just that, Floyd was never offensively as versatile as Leonard. Ray could flurry, and would risk opening himself up to score in ways Floyd wasn't inclined towards.

Beyond that, there's a reason Floyd never moved up to 160, so I have a difficult time seeing him beat a true middleweight ATG who is arguably the GOAT of the class.

Floyd matches up better against Leonard at 147 than he does against Hagler at 160, even the Hagler of 87.

I just re-watched Leonard/Hearns 1 yesterday. Floyd vs a prime SRL or Hearns would be a true chess match.

He'd have more problems with Hearns than Leonard, also, I believe. In fact, even Roger has admitted Hearns would be a tough style for Floyd, and I think even Floyd Sr has admitted that as well.

I'm not sure if Floyd could beat Leonard at his best - but I like his chances against Leonard better than I do against Hagler and/or Hearns.

Mayweather isn't beating Leonard or Hearns either. I would pick him by close decision over Duran though.

Floyd had plenty of offensive moves that Leonard never had.

Hagler would pin Floyd against his own free will.

After that I dont even want to say what happens as it’s too graphic.

I wouldn’t be surprised if 9 months after the match Fluid had Haglers baby.

Perhaps, but Floyd was far more concerned with positioning than punch output north of 140 (and in part, that's why he was so successful). But Floyd would almost certainly never fight Hagler the way Leonard did. Less pop with a lower output doesn't bode well for Floyd, as I see it.

One mistake I've witnessed for at least a decade and a half is that boxing fans not computing that Floyd cuts his opponent's punch output in half.
