    Is he the new RJJ

The critics wont rest until he loses? If and when he loses they'll say he was never that great, he didnt face any real competition until he stepped up and lost. He has beaten everyone he has faced with relative ease ( even Castillo in the rematch, even DLH even though it was a split decision)

    IF YOU THINK YES

Do u think he'll be able to make it out of the fight game undefeated (bearing in mind that his next opponent after Marquez is probably the Pac/Cotto winner, with Mosley waitin in the wings). Will he be a Calzaghe and leave before the inevitable loss or will he be RJJ and try to answer critics (riskin ending up washep up like Roy is now)

Even if he beat Pac/Cotto/Mosley would he get his credit or are they gona keep criticizing till he loses. What will you say

Floyd plans to retire undefeated. He will most likely beat Marquez and then try to come to terms for a fight with Pac and retire afterwards.

He's already retired once and his hand are too brittle to continue like Roy has. I haven't seen too many Roy haters discredit his greatness because of the losses, I mean many great fighters fell off towards the end of their career. Ex. Ali, Louis(though they were older). Now I'm not insinuating that Floyd and Roy are on the level as Ali and Louis, but they are ATG's, and both have had over a decade of sheer dominance (the fist Castillo fight for Floyd aside), discrediting either is ridiculous.

No matter what he does, they will criticize him for being too great. Would then say "He needs to step up to middle weight and fight Williams or Pavlik winner" or "He needs to challenge the best Light Heavy Weights". Most of the people who judge him know very little about boxing or only follow what others are writing. More like a "group think" situation.

I think he takes the easiest fight and I cant stand hearing him talk about why he shouldnt fight pac man and mosley. I cant fight pac cuz im too good mosleys a better fighter but he wont get me the money. hes not even about the money is a ***** excuse to hide from the guys who will put a stamp on his ass. Like mosley cotto and pac. Roy jones ATG floyd isnt imo.

Mayweather is in a lose-lose situation most of the time dating up to his last fight with hatton in 07...ricky was ranked #8 in the world at the time he fought floyd and floyd got no credit..

With that said floyd now has a chance to do what he couldn't b4..jmm, pac-cotto winner, and mosley would shut ery one mouth...

The question is will he step in the ring with cotto if he beats pac and will he step in the ring with mosley after his next 2 fights?

That not true a lot of the Critique towards Floyd is very well warranted.
And most of it is of his own making for the thing's he says and sometimes outlandish claims.
Floyd does have his share of irrational hater's but the generalization you've made is just not fact.

Perfect example of a person who wants him to keep fighting till he loses, then you can say he was never that good. I know its your opinion but to say he isnt ATG is ridiculous. He was P4P #1 for so long its hard to deny him.

Floyd gets a lotta credit for his skills but little credit for some of his victories.

I respect some of the arguments about him not fighting different fighters at WW but some on here that are PROBABLY new to watching the sport sit back and talk as if he did nothing at 130 and 135 (imo he is the GOAT AT 130) and as if he didn't try to get the big fights at 140! THESE PEOPLE JUSS HATERS AND HAVE NO GOOD ARGUMENT TO BACK UP THE OPINIONS THEY BRING!

As far as 154 goes when he fought Oscar there was really nobody good at that weight at the time...The Viper (RIP) was comin off a controversial win 8 months earlier to Ike so he wasn't a valid claim to be the best at 154 at the time...Paul Williams hadn't even won a belt at 147 yet!

As great Mayweather is,he is nowhere near the legacy of Roy Jones Jr,so I wont compare him To RJ in no way

ur trippin if u say he is no where near rjj...u can put up a good argument that rjj ranks higher than floyd but they are in the same category as far as skills and bein atg fighters!

Yes he is the same in that sense, but he has to take a fight he could actually lose, and that hasnt happend yet.

Well I do think moving up to 154 to fight the much bigger and stronger oscar was a pretty big risk, and he doesnt really get the credit he deserved for that victory

Thats funny, people used say that about Roy all the time.

What about the Corrales fight? Is anyone here going to say that a 33-0 was no challenge?
