Is Floyd Mayweather really a great fighter?

I honestly can not believe what I am reading....People are letting there A.) Hate for Floyd B.) Blind Love for Manny C.) Both cloud their vision when it comes to Boxing...You bash Floyd for who he fights; yet give Manny props for fighting either the Fighters AFTER Floyd beats them or Shot Fighters? I don't get it...If you don't like him; thats your choice..but to knock what this man has done in the ring? Cmon man...stop it...you hold on to what Bob Arum says as its "God's Word" when it comes to negotiations and fights...but you seem to forget when he called Mayweather great...To deny his skill in the ring is laughable and anyone who does so does NOT belong in a Boxing forum...Smh

 

maybe, who really knows? in the last 6 years he beat a guy who cant beat mora, 2 guys fighting outside their weight, a faded part timer and a guy who had no business holding a world title. these tests arent exactly the ones to establish greatness.
prior to that he has looked great in some and not so great in others.
ill say he is as great as his opponents have allowed him to be. i think castillo was the last time he fought a fighter in a situation that i thought was a true measure of his talent. i dont think cotto would have lost to any of these guys, how high should i rate cotto?

 

Name the featherweights that can move up and beat De La Hoya at middleweight?

Cotto started his career at 140 and was hydrating to 160 on fight night, of course you would think he could beat feather and light weights. In order for Cotto to accomplish what Mayweather had done he would need to move up to 168 and defeat a belt holder at 160 and 168. He would also need to do so giving up close to 20 pds to an opponent since that is so easy to do.
