From what i've been reading alot of his earlier fights he wasnt expected to win.. against the odds in the books and supposed to just lose against bigger and better guys but looking at it in retrospect he handled pretty much all his competition quiet easily with the exception of castillo 1 i guess which he immediatly fixed because of the tainted victory. Now when people talk about floyd mayweather and his wins and losses all his fights he was supposed to win and people now expect him to fight cotto-williams-margarito-and possibly even PAVLIK?!?! what walls does this man have to walk threw before he gets respect from everyone? He is clearly the best boxer of the past 10 years and already an all time great.... to expect him to fight cotto-williams-margarito is completely unfair and even to mention pavlik is silly... if he fights and beats all of them first of all he is #1 all time.. but thats in my opinion video game talk its not going to happen and even if it did it would be one of the most best feats in boxing history.....

all im saying is that is i think if floyd was a little more vunerable and his fights looked a little more challenging people would respect him a little more.

AND MERRY CHRISTMAS BY THE WAY!!!

I read the talk about how he should fight Pavlik. I actually think he should take a shot at something as improbable as that. Noone would fault him for losing, and he wouldn't get anymore criticism (however unwarranted) for avoiding tough fights.

I actually think he could pull off a decision if he could avoid getting blasted by 2 or more big shots in a row - which seems possible to me.

I don't think Floyd is that good. Sure, he is great but I think that is due to the lack of great fighters around today. I think he would have had a tougher go at it in the nineties than today. I think Whitaker or Quartey could have beat him then, prime DLH and Trinidad as well. Although I am fans of Cotto, Margarito, and Cintron, I see gaping wholes in their styles.
