For whatever reason i was thinking about why floyd mayweather always addresses fighters calling him out (or never calling him out)

    floyd will always say

pacman never calls me out, he knows the business
cotto never calls me out, he knows the business

when jmm & hatton called mayweather out, floyd had no problems coming out to fight either guy. now I am obviously aware of the fact that the last 2 fights were 1000x harder than pacman & cotto, but i think in the mind of mayweather when a guy calls you out that means he is fully prepared to take you on, atleast in his/their own heart. as we can see in this clip mayweather had no problems calling out who he "wanted" to fight. granted a lot of htem didnt happen. i think in floyd's mind he doesnt really want to fight you until you call him out by name.

    - prince naseem
    - kosta tszu
    - casamayor/frietas
    - castillo
    - spadafora
    - stevie johnston
    - juan lazcano
    - shane mosley
    - oscar de la hoya

now obviously he only got in teh ring with about 2 of these guys but maybe when floyd was on the way up and these guys were at their peaks promoters were scared to throw these guys in the ring with mayweather so in a way you could say that mayweather was ducked but when mayweather had finally arrived on top a lot of these guys were knocking on floyds door trying to get their chance when they were the ones saying no to him in the first place.

i dont know if this is the truth or not but maybe floyd is the way he is now because when he was younger he was a too good and got the black sheep treatment in boxing.... so when he got to the top he turned his nose the other way to the rest of boxing just like the rest of boxing turned their nose on him

let me know what you guys think.....

the only thing is it doesn't exactly stay consistent when it coms to margarito & mosley...

i mean it kind of does with mosley cause floyd tried to get him first

but margarito i dunno.... i guess you could say that baldomir had the linear belt although margarito may have been a bit better

I think what your saying makes perfect sense...Plus I know your a Paul fan and your not a big fan of Floyd so it most def is not biased in anyway...

Haha..damn at 130 Floyd was A BEAST BOI! callin out eryone..same up to 140..than i think ur right..he got to the top and turned his nose the other way..

As a Floyd fan I disagree with that but he still has the chance to fight the big fights...Pac, Mosley, and Paul still available..

i'm a fan of good boxers & entertainment... dont really matter who

i ****s with floyd cotto pacman... all them dudes...

but i just try to put myself in their shoes...and i know from like 05-07 everyone was begging to see floyd vs cotto but how you going to beg for that when cotto doesnt even adamantly want that?

especially when floyd used to be the hungry young whiper snapper on the bottom begging for fights and everyone said no... he probably just turned into a snobby *******...which is pretty much exactly what he is

    edit:

pacman would be a good fight for him
if he beats shane people will ask why it never happened earlier
and nobody believes he will truly fight paul

Mosely ducking him before was erased when Mosely went up to the ring and called Floyd on his face. Not really a class act, but its as straight as it gets. What did we get? a bs excuse why he wont fight him because he ducked him first?!?! what are we? toddlers?!?

Floyd constantly contradicts himself. But fact is, when he said "Legacy doesnt pay my bills" he meant it, and its really all about money for him. Boxing is strictly business to him. And thats that.

Boxing fans need to get over their whole fascination with fighters "calling out" opponents in interviews.

Fights are made in the negotiating room, with lawyers discussing how many millions go to each side, not in an interview.

"Ooooohhh, he called him out!!!"

These aren't school kids challenging each other to fights in recess.

Ricky Hatton's dad talked about how he and Team Mayweather had negotiated for a year before Hatton fought Castillo and knocked Floyd's fighting style.

Marquez mentioned Floyd in an interview and got the fight. You think Mayweather accepting the fight might have something to do with the fact that Pacquiao struggled twice with Marquez and Mayweather wanted to one-up him, especially after Pacquiao beat De La Hoya and Hatton in fashions that Mayweather did not?

De La Hoya claims he fought Pacquiao because he and Roach "challenged him". Well damn near everyone talks about wanting to fight De La Hoya, because it's a big money fight and big event. De La Hoya fought Pacquiao because it was the biggest fight that could be made at the time.

Mayweather's just talking about Pacquiao not mentioning him because he's on an ego trip. But ultimately it means **** all. Mayweather and Pacquiao can be talking about each other nonstop or not talk about each other at all. The fact that it's the biggest fight in the sport that can be made, and each guy might make $40 million, means the fight probably will happen. Not because one of the guys verbally "challenged" the other.

yeah but at that point why fight mosley?

pacquiao would make 100x more sense
cotto would make 100x more sense

i mean i understand these guys are fighters but at the same time this is how they feed their children... why risk losing all that cotto/pacquiao money?

yeah and to further get into the topic (margarito)

    floyd beat zab on 4-8-06

baldomir's last 3 fights were prior to the floyd fight were
    gatti on 7-22-06
    zab on 1-07-06
    miguel angel rodrigez on 5-21-05

margarito's last 3 prior to the margarito / floyd fight were
    manuel gomez on 2-18-06
    kermit cintron on 4-23-05
    sebastian lujan on 2-18-05

what type of sense would it have made for floyd to fight margarito on the baldomir date? baldomir have actually beaten some decent comp as opposed to margarito who really hadnt beat anyone and wasnt the lineal belt holder

and just to cover my foot prints for the people who say this is stupid...

that would be like if floyd had the choice to fight mosley or berto

and everyone said he shoudl fight mosley... then floyd beats mosley.... and berto ends up being better then mosley

now obviosly this isnt the case... but at the time i can see why they chose baldomir.... only in retrospect does margarito look like the better fight

It's pretty obvious that he was waiting on Pacquiao.

But he's not gonna say that because of his ego, he wants to act like everyone has to wait on him, not the other way around. He's not very good at handling questions that aren't really easy anyway, so he resorted to the same **** he criticizes other guys for, saying "my team conducts my bouts".

All roads leads to floyd.:rofl :rofl

why did he came back? he needs money and wanted to prove that he's the best boxer in this planet? coz the last opponents that he beat was beaten by pac in a more spectacular & devastating fashion. so he fought jmm (but has to go up in weight) whom was already defeated by pac coz he wanted to prove something to pac. after the fight, he was called-out by shane in his face but did floyd fought him? now he wanted pac to call hi name out.

so "all roads leads to pacman".:deal:deal:D:D

True, anyways, i just wanted to argue for the sake of argument, but still i hope the fight pushes thru. Everyone just contradicts themselves and frankly, its what fuels these fights, imo. All these crazy talks from different camps makes great ingredients in promoting a fight.

So i'm gonna start laying off the hate threads, and look for the constructive one's. ESB is full of hatred right now, its infectious!:huh

I agree with the Baldemere desion and everything else you say. Alot of these people are just purley hating, for no reason. I see no need to Hate there both great fighters and Mayweather mainly fought who the public wanted him to fight to be honest.
We wanted oscar floyd we wanted Hatton Floyd he Fight JMM hes a cherry picker. The guy only fights twice a year. he cant fight the entire divison
