I heard it's Floyd SR Training his son for the Pacquiao fight, but all the clips i've seen it's Roger in the ring with Floyd Jr doing the pad work. Actually I haven't seen Floyd Sr do anything apart from talking and watchng his son train.

    Your thoughts.

Floyd trains himself. I haven't seen Floyd Sr have any serious input in any of Floyd's recent training camps whatsoever. Roger's the one who does the pads with Floyd simply because they're used to each other and Roger is the only one who can do Floyd's unique mitt work.

Mayweather doesn't really need any trainer, he knows what to do in there. All he needs is someone in the corner to tell him basics here and there and someone in training camp to work with. How many times have you seen Roger or Sr. say anything game changing in the corner with Mayweather?.

Yet he was showered with praises for Hatton's performance against Malignaggi. Reality is, Sr. can't fight for Hatton and he sure as hell wasn't completely going to change him after only two training camps. Hatton has fought that bulldozer face-front way his entire career. At best, Sr. was going to make slight adjustments and it would've required years and many fights to accomplish.

It's a pipe dream to expect drastic changes after only two fights and one against an ATG like Pacquiao who was able to brutally overpower ATG quality fighters like Barrera, Morales, DLH...etc

Hatton actually said mayweather Sr couldn't do southpAw pads
Quite a big thing for a fighting a southpAw

As far as I'm aware roger does pad work and mayweather sr does game plan and stuff

Both his uncle and his father seem rather brain dead to me, but i am guessing he relies on their teachings from the past?

I think Sr. took Freddie's advice, he let Roger do the training.

Yes I saw the interview as well this morning. It's not the first time I have heard people mention this. Ideally it would make sense to do southpaw pads but I'm not an expert on the matter.
