I’m not sure he’s the most accurate ever (it’s a very hard thing to judge) but he’s certainly up there. Floyd had phenomenal accuracy and punch placement.
He was pretty accurate. Landed around 44-46% of his punches and had a +24 plus/minus ratio. For comparison Shakur Stevenson has the best plus/minus ratio at +20.4 for current boxers with Jesse Rodriguez coming in behind him at +18.9. Best total connected percentage currently is Jesse Rodriguez at 39.4% with David Benavidez at #2 with 37.4%. In review, Floyd had some good stats.
Whenever I watched B-Hop, he alwayts struck me as being hugely accurate and hardly ever wasted a punch - although as to be expected his output dipped a lot as he got older.
Floyd is a midget with failed genetics & all that p4p stuff is nonsense. He has the body of a 14 year old girl.
No mate, they are not overrated, I was putting them in, to show how overrated the forum views the others Ray Robinson is number 1 on my list and Ali would make top 5 It's a sarcastic list, because this forum has loma as Goat followed by GGG and Usyk
Slappy Joe, who I rate highly didn't fight the resume of guys Floyd did and he spent 99.9% of his career in the one division Hardly a fair comparison is it? Manny himself only has a 62% stoppage rate, again he moved up even more than Floyd and fought a much higher calibre of fighters than Joe
Floyd developed brittle hands and that affected his workrate, punch selection, power, etc. He was using pillow gloves from 147 on.
Exactly, people fail to pay attention to this. I'd go Roy Jones though. Hagler was also very economical.
Hard not to be accurate when you've fought as many plodders as he did (plodder soup was his favourite dish) so few slicksters which is a style he always struggled against or which caused him fits (remember how the Flo-Emoes crucified Manny for allegedly not doing something Floyd barely did himself? Crazy, eh?), and have a 72'' reach and are very rarely at a reach disadvantage. But there's no denying that Floyd was a good fighter which is something I think we can all agree on.
Fair, I have Robinson number 1 and Ali in the top 5. I love Usyk but some people overrate him on this forum think he’s the second coming of Jesus.
Didn’t know this, very good points. I like Jesse Rodriguez, I think he will be a p4p shoe in. When you examine Floyd’s performances closely it’s clear that he was a remarkable fighter and clear of most other guys.
I don't think there was a more accurate puncher in history than Floyd. He threw no wasted punches. His player mode was on "sharpshoot"
I can't stand Floyd and he missed weight and all, but he utterly schooled JMM. It made me laugh cause the whiner finally had to shut up about robbery. If JMM had managed to win a round he might have screamed robbery.
