    His resume is extremely overrated
Very skilled yes, but he hasn't beaten the calibre of fighter to be among the true greats

I had his numbers from Genaro Hernandez to Rickey Hatton, which is considered his prime. It was 46% landed and like 22% opponents landed for those 22 fights from 1998-2007. But his stats from his first 7 fights at 147 were even more impressive.
His complete best showing was actually a fight he should've struggled more but Marquez just wasn't Marquez that fight. He had the highest +/- in any fight in compubox history which was +47 over Marquez.
One of the best ever but not THE best ever but statistically hes the top.

Exactly. In fact, Mayweather wasn't even the most accurate guy named Floyd in boxing - Patterson was

To be honest I don't think I have ever seen Floyd FIGHT!!! He cannot get down & FIGHT!! lol He was illegally using Xylocaine shots earlier when he got caught all they did was make it legal in Nevada since.
I saw his punk like cowardly ambush of an unprotected Victor Ortiz. He fired off his hardest combination on a helpless opponent. Really he's lucky he cannot punch. he could have seriously injured of even killed Ortiz with that. What happens then both Floyd & Joe Cortez were at fault

Why are you saying Floyd fought better opposition than if he'd stayed in one weight class but the main reason he moved up was to avoid the fighters he was afraid of Williams, Margarito, etc both would have beaten him. all Ginger did is copy Floyd Both were sadly lacking in the cojone size obviosly

Well you’ve completely misunderstood me - it’s an overrated top 10 list that he had up - I was saying I couldn’t put them on there because they were great while Tank and Fury are more hype than greatness.

    1. Mayweather didn't make the contracted weight, he basically cheated against JMM (I know you addressed this but it can't be overstated).
    2. JMM wasn't a Welterweight.
    3. Other fighters beat him at his natual weight, like Chris John and Freddie Norwood.

JMM wasn't some great win on Mayweather's resume.

Mayweather really didn't fight any slick fighters. Ironically, the slickest guy he fought probably beat him (Castillo). It's not hard to be accurate when you are fighting guys like Carlos Baldomir, Connor McGregor, Andre Berto, etc.

Mayweather was a good fighter but his groupies rate him way too high. His best win IMO was DLH and DLH fought way tougher competition than Mayweather yet he somehow gets downgraded for losses. Is there anyone on Mayweather's resume you don't think DLH would have beaten as well?

It really wasn't. Did you know JMM was not allowed to discuss the weight for this up to the fight? All it was ever billed as was a WW fight. Never a mention of the 144 catchweight the Floyd paid himself out of.

    Fight was a sham.

I was bored, too. Watched them at the time. Haven't gone back and watched most ever again.
