Well, I find them exciting. I also understand exciting, intriguing and fascinating are completely subjective. To each his own.

That said, if I was Floyd's financial advisor, I would tell him to keep doing exactly what he is doing. There are people who find his fights boring and there are people who walk out and boo at his fights. Regardless, He is currently the highest paid athlete on earth and all of the revenue is based entirely on the number of spectators. So whether anyone boos or finds him boring doesn't really matter. He is a complete rarity because his style of fighting is not easily appreciated by casual fans, but he's still the biggest draw in the sport.

 

He's all single shots, and sometimes can be one dimensional offensively! Manny Stewart pointed this out during the Hatton fight. Manny Stewart even stated that he is not as gifted as Roy Jones Junior when it comes to throwing combinations. Its a fact that Floyd Mayweather is not as gifted offensively, he does not blow guys out of the water and destroy them.

This is one of the big reasons why he is boring, he is not gifted offensively. He's good counter puncher, but offensive fighting is more than just landing single shots and counter punching.

I don't know why you are lying to yourself its ok man, tell the truth..? he is boring.

He's not bringing the excitement of Mike Tyson, Roy Jones, Sugar Ray Leonard.

His weaknesses are his offence, and that he lacks elite power.

 

What I don't get is the same people on here saying Floyd is boring yet they try and say that Rigo is not boring. :huh

I am not the one here making up **** about people walking out on Roy Jones or Whitaker... you know why they didnt walk out on those guys?

Because those guys actually took on the biggest challenges when they were actually a threat..... They didnt look over and see Chavez then decide to take on a Robert Guerrero instead.


They didnt look over and see a Prime James Toney and then in turn decided lets look at a Baldimor type contender these guys were respected because they took risk that the fans of the sport not the fighter but the sport wanted to see.

Mayweather from 130-140 was an offensive dynamo. One of the best combi punchers ever and had a 70% ko rate at 130

As hes moved up and gotten older hes become more offensively responsible

If you actually followed boxing youd know the same thing happened to Roy as he moved up. At LHW he tended to throw pot shots and fight off the ropes more than the Roy whod string punches togethe


Fighting bigger fighters causes this beacuse one shot can put you out


Now against Cotto Floyd showed he still has those blistering combos in his rep

You're completely wrong. If he had a one dimensional offense he would have been beaten multiple times. His offense is actually a big part of his defense because he keeps fighters honest in the ring. That's why punch output is low in Mayweather fights.

You want an admission? I'll also admit that I believe that YOU find Mayweather boring. That's fine. Your prerogative. Me? I love Ray Leonard. Watching Mike Tyson physically dominate opponents is f'ing awesome. I also love the intricate chess match that is most Floyd Mayweather fights. Frankly, they have better replay value than Tyson, because you actually have to watch them multiple times or you miss things.

I like watching the entire process. I like watching the excellence, the set up, the mental domination, the strategy. That's all exciting to me. If all I cared about were the big shots and KO's, I'd just watch the highlights.
