I don't know what you're talking about. The OP said that Mayweather is the only guy to be champ in two different divisions at the same time. That's not accurate. You're making up your own argument and arguing against things I never said.

What does that have to do with anything I said?

    OK. Please read this.

I was referring to his being WBO 147 champion and RING 140 champion. After he beat Hatton, he moved up and beat Cotto but never returned to defend his RING title despite still holding it while beating Cotto as well as (not explainable on behalf of the RING Mag) still holding it while defending that WBO belt over Clottey. Then he vacated it, two fights later but none at JWW.

Now lets look at what you feel is reason to "call me out..."

When Pacquiao won the WBC JMW title, he vacated it before his next WBO WW title defense. Therefore, he never held them simultaneously while defending either of them. As someone like you would say, THAT IS A FACT!

So no matter how you cut it, you are still wrong.

You didn't say that you said Pacquiao never dropped back down to defend his title. Lies. :deal

    The thread title is:

"Is Floyd the only fighter in modern history to fight in 2 weight classes?!"

Obviously, that implies simultaneously. Don't even try to pretend you don't realize that.

Otherwise probably every active fighter alive has fought in 2 weight classes.

EDIT: Also, my statement is still true for what I was originally talking about, which is Pacquiao simultaneously holding the RING 140 and WBO 147 belts. He never moved back down to defend the RING even though he had it. He never held the WBC 154 at the same time that he fought at Welterweight, period.

doesnt mean s.hit these days . "belts" "champions"??

    WBA
    WBA regular
    WBA super
    IBF
    IBF interim
    WBO
    WBO interim
    WBC
    WBC interim

whats "unprecedented" are the amount of paper titles and champions there are in each division.
sad thing about what you dummies are bragging about with these "unification" threads are it took him 16 years to start trying to do that

with catchweights what does it matter. Didn't Armstrong do it in 3? And Hearns fought at 160 in back down to 154 months later and then 6 months after that 175.

    This is partially true.

But all of Floyds' titles have a lineage of some degree of significance to them.

No vacants, interims, or any of that nonsense on Floyds' ledger.

So your post seems out of place and random in this context.

The only irrelevant title of Floyds' is that IBF one at Welterweight he won from Zab, so widely recognized as irrelevant that it is usually forgotten or not even known. He didn't keep it to unify with Baldomir the very next fight, who rightfully had claim to the IBF belt anyways as he had just beaten Zab but was denied right to keep it by the IBF for somewhat unknown reasons.

As for other unifications, the IBF didn't allow Corrales to unify so he had to ditch the belt and enter without a title of his own against Floyd. Floyd didn't fight for Mosley's WBA title, which had he, would have likely resulted in a unification with Ortiz and his WBC belt 16 months later.

If the lineal title is viewed as its own belt, which it is, then Floyd has been a unified champion ever since 1998, 2001 at the latest. And then again in 2002. And again in 2006. And again in 2013... And potentially again this Saturday.

Pwilly didnt have a portion of the wbo belt when he moved up to 160 or did he vacate it? I just remember him bouncing all over the place and when he was fighting at 154 he was willing to fight anyone from 147-160. What a G, man.
