    Is he?

Kell Brook seems to get all the hype, but Frankie Gavin seems like a legit talent! Would he beat Brook? How close is he from facing legit top 10 welters? (Ghost,Devon, Ortiz,Maidana)

For me hes been brought along slowly considering his considerable amateur exploits.Mainly British opposition.Made a big step up in beating Vasell, near world class fighter IMO,a few weeks ago.He must be the best in Europe, barring Brook, and I think he should go for that title, then fight people like the ones you mention. His problem has been inactivity,so he really needs to get a move on.Very skilful boxer, with speed, but it won't last forever. If he did fight Brook, would be his best opponent to date.Certainly better than Jones.

Gavin is awful to watch. He has some nice skills, fast hands and slickness in his game but he holds so much that it is disgusting. 1-2, hold, 1-2, hold, 1-2 grab arms, 1-2 hold, 1-2 grab arms .........

Frampton is a better talent in my eyes.

If he was finnish with a 12-4 record, you'd have clips of him flying outta your ringer

Frankie has a lot of boxing ability but he ends up looking mediocre a lot of the time.

i said he wasn't going to make it back then, and i'm continuing with that line of thought.

Brook is a whole lot more pleasing on the eye, which is why he's got the fan base. Frankie has one, but it's small in comparison.

no, Brook would beat him with room to spare. after outclassing him for 6-8 rounds, Brook would put the finishing touches together and take him out.
    it's a miss-match if i'm honest with you.

Frankie has the wider range of skill, but fails to put it together most of the time. Frampton doesn't have this problem. he uses his skill to the fullest. so yeah, i'd agree with you. plus, Frampton is far more pleasing on the eye. :yep

:patsch I agree with Calzaghe but to say Lewis is Britians only ATG fighter is wrong. I assume you mean Lennox and he is a great but what about Jim Driscoll, Jimmy Wilde, Jack kid Berg, Ted Kid Lewis, Freddy Welsh and Benny Lynch?

Chances are Brook and Gavin won't fight.Wouldnt be surprised if Brook in future had to campaign at light middle.I don't believe all this nutrition stuff, hell make the weight easily in his next one, etc. He had plenty of time to make weight against Jones.Gavin,I suspect, can easily do welter.Watched Soto Karrass this morning.Would be a great match for either,I suspect he'd come to the UK,would be a great scalp, must be highly rated. But would he be seen as too dangerous?Probably.
