If he take Attell and Kilbane out of the running as being 122lbers.

    Discuss.

haven't ever seen a miller fight so that could change the below opinions:

pep, sadler, arguello, saldivar, canz, sanchez, pedroza, dixon, driscoll, mcgovern

also left out armstrong and chocolate, so you could probably put miller in there if you move a few other guys to different weights, but that seems a bit pointless.

the lack of separation from sarron or battalino shows about the right level imo.

I'm not including Attell or Kilbane so I'm definitely not including the bantamweights labelled as 'featherweights'....although McGovern and Dixon did a lot of work between 122 and 126 so if you think they're accomplished enough to make the top 10 at 126 even disregarding their work below 122 please make a case.

Thanks for replying....I can't see this being too popular a topic...perhaps if it was 'Freddie Miller Vs Marciano' it might do 100 pages.

Also, as a massive Pedroza fan I can't see him in a top 10.

He never beat the no.1/2, his best opponent pushed him mighty close and most of his title defences count for naught.

since you almost certainley know more about pedroza than me i'm hesitant to make that argument, nevertheless, lockridge, ford, nemoto, lastras, kobayashi, lujan and taylor(d, loss on my card tbh) are all worthwile, if not top quality names, the lack of a sanchez fight is not 100% his fault and his career is all fw.
looking from another side I can see that pedroza gains notoriety from being from the same time as sanchez and being the guy mcguigan beat.

I can see leaving dixon and mcgovern off via weights, but dixon won the title 3 times, so even if the bouts were below 126 i'd question his exclusion, at least moreso than terry.

post your top 10 @ 126lbs and i'll have another think, but using 126 rather than feather(and ignoring all the >140lb modern feathers) miller is certainley in the discussion.

Any post day before weigh in guys who should be included from lower divisions?

Ring Magazine rated him number four when they did a featherweight ranking back in 2001.

They also rated Pedroza at number eight, in large part due to longevity.

I dont know if he was top ten. There have been a lot of great FWs but Miller was damn good.

There is very little on Miller out there. All I got is that he had a controversial series with Battling Batalino, and may have been a solid bowler and bridge champion. Looks awkward in that effective way all slick southpaws look.
