He is a world class trainer who looks after his fighters. Every fighter wants him as a trainer. Period.
A half way decent coach who is riding Manny's coattails to unbelievable heights...**** it tho, I'd do it too.
Thats really unfair. He has made Manny into one hell of a fighter. Manny has gone from a one punch fighter to one of the most complete fighters of his generation under Roach.
Damn that...that doesn't make you a genius. Any trainer with a lil bit of knowledege would have taken that step.
I mean, What has Kahn done since he's had him? Really? Kahn main problem which we see is he's chinny...Roach can't teach that one. Roach is good, but he's gettin caught up in his own hype. The same **** people dislike big Floyd for is the same bull**** he's on...arrogance.
I dont think Manny would have developed the movement he has and the right hand were it not for Roach. Thats not saying that a trainer like Nacho couldn't do the same but many couldn't.
He certainly put some discipline in Khan's style. Khan didn't really give Kotelnik much openings which is a far cry from the prescott performance. Freddy getting caught up in his own hype? I don't think so, heck Freddy is the one who said that trainers are often overrated and that's its the fighters who should always get majority of the props. He's outspoken, he says what he thinks and he doesn't mince words which rubs people the wrong way. He's arrogant about his fighters (rightly so) but he isn't arrogant about himself.
Catchweights are garbage...but Freddie is the man...however lately he has been giving me the impression that he thinks he's the one fighting Pacmans fights...I wasn't a fan of his comments after the Hatton fight
