Freddie roach is a Genius, he studies his craft and knows it inside out. Like him or hate him his talent cannot be ignored and needs to be respected an underestimating his as a trainer will be stupid. I like the guy.
I havent seen anything that show that Roach is anything other than a well trained coach who knows stuff. An ex-fighter who was trained by Eddie Futch and who Futch taken on as an apprentice trainer after he retired from fighting. The man is living his dream of training people to excel at what they do, and he shows his class by the results he achieves through the mass of high level fighters he has trained over an extended period of time. He is not a jerk.He is a genius. He just knows his game better than most. I like his openness, and i listen for tips they may just help me to be a better trainer. Ive picked up a few things from him, which is more than i have gotten by listening to Floyd snr i have to say :rofl
Pacquiao is not a welterweight. He shouldn't be fighting at 147. I'd rather have Pac fight at a catchweight and get a "tainted" victory as opposed to fighting at 140 against the Tim Bradley's and Kendall Holt's that nobody outside of boxing fans really care about. The only other fight at the lower weights is against Marquez and his stock just dropped a lot with how bad he just looked.
He's a genius who can be a jerk at times, but who isn't a jerk at times. Especially in his line of work. Roach has only had ONE catch weight for his fighter, PAC. That was for this upcoming fight against Miguel. So I'm not sure how he's "constantly" asking for catch weights.:huh Unless I missed something. Think of it this way....his fighter is ALWAYS at a physical disadvantage going up against the BIGGER men that now, Roach has decided to try to even the playing field. He can only for so long put his fighter at a disadvantage as his fighter conitues to move up and make history. At some point PAC will hit a wall with moving up so far in weight seeking the biggest challenges.
