This is a big risk gamble on Roach's part -- especially if Khan gets starched...

    He's just the trainer.

I dont think he's got that much of an influence when it comes to Amir Khan's career.

    Pacquiao's maybe, yes.

But Amir only trained at the Wildcard for only a few days.

I think Freddie has seen Khan do very well in sparring with Pac and thought - if this kid can do this and fights a clever fight this can launch him into the bigtime...he knows MAB is not the fighter he once was and has seen the flash speed skills and youth of Khan sparring with PAC and said "go for it kid your too fast for old MAB...you can really win this!" IMO.

King phoned Warren about another of SN's fighters for MAB and Warren's lightbulb went on and threw Khan's name back at King. Roach had no say.

According to Frank Warren he talked to Roach about Barrera and was given a green light.

I do believe Frank Warren will have spoken to Roach before making this fight - and Warren knows its a gamble but is betting on Khans youth, skills n speed will be enough to get past an old MAB. And I think he may be right here. Big name on Khans resume will do him big favours and go at least some way to blotting over his devastating KO loss to Prescott.

You obviously didn't see Frank on Friday Fight Night last night. I honestly think that Roach has had quite a bit of input here, he isn't going to stick around training Khan for him just to take on a long line of ***ans. On the show last night Frank looked very nervous indeed. He said that Barrera would start off as favourite, but come fight night he would have a few quid on ...pause, pause, nervous look, pause...look away from the camera "the draw"...he was shitting himself. I don't think Frank has had too much input in this match-up, more like Roach an Khan have decided who they want.

Barrera will still beat crapo boxerers in this division...Barrera is a legend. Perhaps his heart isn't into it anymore, maybe his bod isn't as fit or tough..or quick as it used to be. With his mind and bod not at one. I see Barrera lose this. Barrera lossed his hunger? cuz old age.. Mybe time to retire perhaps.

    No i missed that.

I got it from Warren's gob from the press confrence.

Typical Warren then, different story every time he tells it.
