I wonder what it is that fighters see when they hire him to train them for a big fight, IMO this guy is nothing but a waste of time, he doesn't EVER emphasize to his fighter the urgency to get out there and fight his heart out. The only fighter I've seen him be beneficial to is Pacquiao.

He just seems like a way overhyped trainer. I personally think he sucks, he was awful in DLH's corner against Mayweather and he was even worse last night with B-Hop, he doesn't give his fighters any advice in between rds, doesn't spur them on to fight and always seems to make his fighter believe that they're ahead on the scorecards, I mean shouldn't you be fighting as if you're behind every round??? not relying on the hope that you're ahead???
Last night I scored it a draw, Between B-hop's constant grabbing of his nuts faking injury and Slapzaghe's ***** "punches" the fight should have been called a No Contest or some silly **** like that, Not impressed by Calzaghe AT ALL, I think if he gave Kessler a rematch he might lose, and he better not fight Pavlik because he WILL LOSE TO PAVLIK.

Do You Think He's Worst Than Manny Steward. Manny Is The Worst, Period. This Guy Is A Joke As A Trainer And A Disgrace For Any Boxer Who Desperately Hires Him . Btw, His Only "success" As Of Late Is The Joker Of Wlad K. Who Doesn't Compare To Pacquiao In His Worst Day! My 10 Yrs. Old Kid Can Give Better Advice To Any Boxer Than Steward. Not Joking!

Hes great and I thought BHop performed as good as he could have today. At his age he was always gonna struggle against a great boxer with the speed and workrate of Calzaghe. Calzaghe is arguably p4p #1, hardly comparable to Moorer.

Freddie Roach is a great trainer.. He could only do so much with BHop's aging ass.. If you don't think he's work with Pac is great, then what the hell..

Well I don't recall Roach telling Hopkins to sit back, move in, clinch, sit back, move in, clinch.

I think he gave good advice yesterday, he told hopkins that he could not win the fight throwing single punches, and hopkins came out swinging more after that round, it simply wasnt enough to compete with 100SPR (Slaps Per Round).

i thought he did well with oscar. he was wrong ast night. he shoud of tod bernard to be more aggresive. not veryone views fite the same. bernard did get the nod on a ot of cards. in the uk, the commentators thought that joe had not done enought to win the fight.

the bookies were offering odds of 1/3 on hopkins getting the nod after the bel rang

Hopkins was effective when he threw more punches as Roach instructed him to do but he just didn't throw enough punches- its just not his style

yeah he does, hes a very good trainer, last night he kept trying to beat into Hops head that one punch was not enough and he had to step it up, hops just opted to listen to whatshisface in his corner who kept telling him "youre winning"....

Roach is a very good trainer. The guy is struggling with parkinson's and still does what he can. Give him a break

watching his interview on satanta before the fight...i have to say i was very impressed with how he viewed that calzaghe could be beat...he seemed to have a good strategy worked out...

I would like to see these old fighters just hang it up........really. Let some new blood get into the game. As far as as trainers are concerned you can only do so much with a guy, especially an old dog.
