I wouldn't necessarily disagree. But IMO, your picking only the fighters(except for Pacquiao) who has failed under him and basing your opinion that his overrated on that issue. Last time I checked, he was pretty successful with a guy called Toney and another guy called Tyson.
the problem with roach was pointed out by floyd mayweather sr. he focuses too much on fitness and conditioning but is not insightful enough to pick out all of the minutiae that a great trainer can. vasquez improved greatly b/c he became a much more well rounded fighter.
The guy earned his reputation as a trainer through hard work and consistent good results . . . so I don't think he is over rated. He deserve the recognition he is getting.
Freddie has produced world champions and pacquiao what he is now because of him. He still has a long way to go and he will produce more champions in years to come. You can keep on complaining invisibly in a boxing forum, but have you ever asked yourself if you can even recruit any fighter to train under you?
no but thats why im not a professional trainer. these forums exist b/c as fans of professional sports, we spend millions of dollars every year to support athletes and their coaching staff. and in turn, we are allowed to criticize and question these people if they cant take the criticism then they shouldnt be in the profession
Freddie Roach has contributed to the sport of boxing as a fighter and as a trainer more than anyone of us here as boxing fans.
ur still missing my point dude. atsch this is just an internet forum not a courtroom trial. chill out
I got your point but saying that a former trainer of the year is overrated for me is simply pure hate... in an internet forum that is.
