As an outsider, it seems to me that Groves is the red headed step-child in this triangle, and Froch is the apple of everyone's eye. It's almost as if Groves is getting punked, and he's the last one to know. When they had that little confrontation in the stadium where Froch shoved George, nobody seemed to bat an eyelash really. Hearn sure didn't seem to care. So, I'm wondering, with how the first fight turned out, is Groves still not on a level playing field?
Everytime something like 'the shove' happens I just see pound signs in hears eyes and a little smile with a faint sound of ching ching. Of corse hes not bothered its all publicity and I dont think hed be bothered if it was the otherway round for the same reason but of course he favours froch hes hearns fighter groves isnt simple as that
Hearn has to favour Froch, he has a promotional deal with him. I actually think Hearn would like Groves to win in questionable circumstances to set up a trilogy.
True, but I think Eddie has an emotional and business bond with Froch. That's how I think Eddie lost the signing of Groves to the Sauerlands: He is too emotionally involved with Carl... ... Just look at the Bute stoppage. Eddie was like a Take-That fan from 1993 when Carl won! #Robbie! Eddie will (probably has) learn that you shouldn't mix business with pleasure.
Having a close relationship stops Carl signing with someone else. Your'e not going to stitch your "mate" up and go with another promoter are you?
This is only a guess, but I'd say there is a better than 50/50 chance that Eddie Hearn has tugged himself off thinking of Carl Froch in the two or three years they've known each other.
Fast Car enabled Groves to look elsewhere for his promoter rights and went with Kalle, who seems intent to sign up more Brit fighters. Smart move by Eddie to hook up with Degale, not so smart disenfranchising Groves. He could have had it all.:deal
Yep. If Eddie had a brain, he'd have been the real winner tonight. Instead, if Carl was to win and retire or flat out lose and Degail was to lose, Eddie has got who exactly? Kell? Laughable. Eddie is taking a huge gamble in that Carl and Degail both come through tonight.
