No. Calzaghe's win over Lacy was as impressive as Foch over AA. JC actually beat Kessler & he would definitely beat Froch.

Froch is a good SMW but no he shouldnt be rated higher than Calzaghe. Froch has earned some good wins but look at the fighters and where they were when he beat them.
Pascal - A good win over an undefeated SMW. But a SMW who hadnt beaten anyone of real note. Pascal has gone on to do well, but that was after Froch beat him.

Taylor - It was a good away win for Froch, but Taylor hadnt long been KOd by Pavlik and had even been outpointed by Pavlik at SMW.

Dirrell - Hadnt beaten anyone of note. Dirrells biggest win is a DQ over a former MW champ who hadnt beaten anyone of real note.

Kessler - Beaten by Calzaghe and was coming off a loss when he beat Froch in a close fight

Abraham - Read above where Dirrell is mentioned.

People forget on Calzaghes resume you have
Eubank - who has done more at SMW than most of those fighters and in far fewer MW fights fought better comp than AA.
Reid - who at SMW has done more than AA, Pascal, Dirrell and Taylor
    Woodhall - read above
    B Mitchell - Read above
    Lacy - Read above
Kessler - undefeated and read above
Even fighters like Veit have accomplished more at SMW than Dirrell and AA etc
Not forgetting other names like Starie, Sheika, Bika, Manfredo, Brewer

Calzaghe has one of the best SMW resumes, just wasnt known to America like Froch. Its all about hype again

Who do people think Taylor gave Froch a chance? I thought Taylor was Frochs mandatary and still demanded the fight happen in his own back yard, which shows Taylor had more sway ofc but still shows it was Froch who had the bigger balls and gave taylor the chance. Im presuming Froch could have demanded the fight at home if he wanted?

when taylor beat hopkins -twice - he became a serious player because he beat the man at MW.

then he lost a couple and the fight with froch was made because taylor saw him as an 'easy' way to grab a belt and get some momentum going again - which he badly needed.

froch was, honestly, just a paper champion with ZERO options that he had any leverage with in negotaitions to boost his international exposure, so the taylor fight really was a gift.

just like oscar when he fought sturm...

    and that's why...

froch was calling out joe until that point. he wanted a ride that he hadn't earnt....

    taylor was his meal ticket.

This, All the fighters Froch beat, Joe would have beaten worse.

Taylor wasn't prime anymore as he was going way down after Pavlik. I mean LACY gave Taylor a tougher fight than expected, and RJJ destroyed Lacy.

Dirrell has done nothing, Abraham has done nothing, Kessler had double vision which made him completely inferior to the version Calzaghe fought and Froch still lost to the slugger version that he fought against. Pascal is a good scalp and is a real prime opponent he can boast about, but even then it was still a close fight and at the time they met, Pascal wasn't that well known even.

Just because you fight a prime version of a fighter does not mean you fought an especially good fighter.

I mean, can you believe that Abraham would have ever won even a single round against Calzaghe with that offense?

i'll sit here and debate you on it on a public forum. so let's see if you believe it and can back it up or if it's all flag-waving.

Froch clearly has a better resume than Joe Calzaghe........
