Just thinking back to the Bute and Taylor fights here.

I thougt it was notable the patience Froch showed. Just contrasting that to guys who can be too frantic: Youve got someone like Angulo who totally punched himself out and then youve got Haye who smothered his own work against Ruiz. On the flipside of that young got the over cautious guys like Mayweather and Wlad Klitschko who wont necessarily take their guy out when he is hurt.

What struck me was that with Froch it was measured and clinical. He went about his work and didnt punch himself out, he took breaks but did it whilst still right infront of Bute who was having to slip, bob etc and expend energy. Froch has a predatory instinct I think.

Bute and Taylor were both excellent finishes.

I'm a big Froch fan,but I think this is overstating things a bit Dave.
Taylor was on the way out and Bute was,to put it kindly, unproven.
He's one of the most exciting, fan friendly fighters in the game but best finishers?
    Not quite for me.

Let's be honest, Bute was total inept at dealing with being hurt; just backing straight up against the ropes, guard up, with a gaping hole in the middle.

These boards are almost unbearable. A guy puts in a good/bad performance and he's suddenly elevated to the stars or plunged had-first into the sewer; a thousand an one threads appear: is so and so the greatest/worst blah, blah, blah,?

What is required is the calm rational analysis of one particular match up; one very specific dynamic, rather than positing sweeping generalizations in a manner akin to excited hormonal teenagers.

I do fear I wont get a response.

Such as a question with a rational reasoning presented for the case in support.

bute.... he's faced pascal, kessler and ward who can all be considered elite. things is they have never been knocked out and froch didnt get the chance to close in and finish them.

every good fighter froch has had in that position, he has finished. ie: magee, taylor, bute.

He's a very good finisher. Not GGG Golovkin good, but that's more because of difference in punching power.
