hes wierd to watch, ugly style, crazy tactics of happily gettin repeatadly punched in the face but clearly its somehow workin.

He seems too slow to work from the jab (unless your facin somebody even slower like AA) and he seems to just tempt his opponants in with his low arms and chin stickin out, choosing to take some power away by rolling away a little. But will counter pretty much every attack thrown at him.

Id say his style of fighting is suicidal if he wants to fight at the top level but hes still there, a world champion and through to the final of the super 6, which isnt a tournement littered with bums.

 

Is Pacquiao avoiding him? There's your answer.

 

I think his ability to roll will punches is actually really good and is key to him getting away with it.

He's got above average everything (except his below average defense and focus). Power, toughness, speed, movement, stamina, heart.. etc. and it's this combination of abilities that win him his fights because he's naturally incredibly adaptable.

It's hard to imagine him losing because he's capable of so much if he just follows orders.

 

I cant really argue cuz the evidence is there but that bit you said about gettin away with it, i really think thats exactly it. Taylor nearly had him, i thought Dirrell had had him, Kessler had him and i didnt think Johnson did as bad as a the 117-111 score card suggested.

Hes still there, still standin but i just feel hes been a tad lucky and as you say has been gettin away with it.

 

He tries to be slick but gets hit too much to be considered truly slick. Awkward is a good word.

 

He's slick and has the slick style, but not slick enough (as evidenced by all those overhand rights he ate against Johnson).

IMO Taylor nearly had him, Dirrell could have had him, Kessler was lucky to have him fight the wrong fight, and Johnson didn't do as well as the 114-114 score card suggested.
